I have some of David D's material and when I watch it, I'm struck with the thought that I don't need to actually be watching him on stage - all I need is the audio.

Maybe for the bodylanguage seminar it's important to WATCH it, but for the rest of them it seems like audio would be enough.

What do you think?

i find sometimes video is best sometimes cos it stops boredom setting in but yeah essentially you dont need the visual to get what someones saying.

i actually just got Styles Anihillation Method and all the files are audio so i just take the lap top to bed and listen, it's cool and i actually find that sometimes listening as opposed to watching enhances whats being said cos i'm concentrating on the words and not any visual distractions.

Yes you did.

For other seminars the leader might be drawing or illustrating the point physically. I seem to watch more video then audio.

It's more fun to watch video.
Also, seeing facial expressions and body language may enable you to pick up subcommunications which let you know more about what they're saying and what's really going on.

Exactly

but I perfer shorter vids. Max 10 minutes long, they're the best ones.

Longer than that, audio is better imo. because you can put it to your iPod/mp3 player and listen to it when you really have nothing better to do (long bus/train trips, sunbathing :P , etc.).

if there are things that make the video integral to the experience (like body language, diagrams, facial expressions, etc.) then the video is better. if not, then the audio is better. i listen to all sorts of PUA audio interviews and stuff while driving around hours for my job (and will even extract the audio track from videos to listen to, if possible), which i cannot do with video, so i tend to prefer audio because i can go through several hours in one day when i have nothing better to do (i.e. when i'm driving for my job).

My sansa clip mp3 player allows audio to be played at faster speed so that you get through them quicker....VLC media player plays all formats of audio and video and has a cool feature where you can speed up and/or slow down the video/audio speeds!!! Great for watching a long as seminar thingamagig (which they should make into a legit english word).
