So on 4th of July I "accidentally" used a great opener. At first it stunned even me and I didn't parlay it into any type of close, but after realizing how genius it was I "faked" it and went 2 for 2. Still a small sample size but I feel it can be very successful if done RIGHT. Here it is...

1) Spot your target, this works better if she's walking next to you or walking in front of you. It's okay if you haven't seen her face yet (you can abort this set real quick/easy)
2) Pick up your phone as if someone is trying to call you. Pretend to pick it up and go "Hey baby/sexy/girl (any appropriate variation works)" and 9 times out of 10 the girl in front or next to you will respond to this.
3) Look at her with a confused look and/or go 'oh, I wasn't talking to you, sorry' if you feel she still doesn't know what's going on.
4) Now you can do one of 2 things...the first is: if you were not pleased with her looks/face/attitude/whatever you can just go about your business because in reality you were never addressing her in the first place (in her mind)...or second: you can laugh it off and say 'oh, haha. not you!' then tell your phone 'hey let me call you back...k, bye' (signal your target to wait for a second if necessary)
5) Now you can play around with her a little and say 'i didn't realize your name is sexy/girl/baby too, my name is "XXXX", pleased to meet you sexy/baby/girl.

You will have the entire upper hand the whole time if you do it right. She is still slightly embarrassed so take it easy with the negging, plus she already has the thought of you calling that girl back as soon as you are done talking to her. If she asks who it was just respond it was just a friend. Its just a fun way to mix it up and the reactions will vary a lot but you have a ton of control over the situation.

I had the same thinng happen to me too a while back ago. But by that time i didnt realize what IOI was, and just laughed about her strange "are you talking to me" look. NICE ONE !!

Just make sure your phone is on 'silence' mode or this could be an epic phail if your phone rings in mid opener....
