Tell me what you guys think. If the girl has a sense of humor and gets the joke, this could be useful in the short-term, while his death is still fresh.

Sounds like it could be REALLY hit or miss. I could imagine someone laughing out loud at this, but I could also imagine someone being really put off by it.

You should try it then tell us what you think ; )

I sent it out to 3 girls for kicks, defiantly not the best opener I've used. First of all, girls don't "get the humor" of Billy Mays for the most part and that is the feeling i got from testing the opener. Two replied but were kinda just like umm what. Which is exactly what I expected.

I tell you what, if you put together a nice long version of your idea, it could become a very entertaining "about me" section.
