A HB I met back in my AFC days comes up to me and asks "are you mad at me?". Apparently I walked past her at the pub and didn't say hi. It was a pretty clear IOI, just a shame that it was closing time and her friends were leaving.

I asked her out like a year ago but she was just out of a break up so she didn't want to hang with me. After that I never contacted her again, but I've chatted with her at the pub a few times. One time she was like "you should come and get your haircut" (she's a hairdressor).

Hell it's confusing. I got rejected but now she is giving me IOI's. I'm analysing this way too much but I live in a small town, it's impossible to find decent girls.

I got the same "are you mad at me" from a potential regular just a few days ago.

Are you sure the question was an IOI? In my case it was not an IOI - she was feeling guilty because she wanted me to like her, but she didn't like me. Since she was conflicted she was giving off a weird vibe and she wanted to find out how I felt.

I think the "are you mad at me question" is kind of a test by the girl to see where you are coming from.

I totally screwed up the test - so I don't know if I can tell you what to do, but at least I can break down the problem.

If you tell her you are mad at her, then she has a reason to not like you.

On the other hand, if you tell her that you are not mad at her, then she will think you are push-over, and girls tend not to like spineless guys.

I think the best thing to do is agree, amplify and dispell: "I am mad at you. Very mad. I am so mad I started an I'm mad at HB fan club. There are already 14 members of the club, we're going to advertise on taxi's and your mom has applied to be president."

after she responds "cool your jets, turbo - we broke up a long time ago - why would I be mad at you?"

Interesting, thanks for the reply. Your right it probably was some kind of test. But I'm thinking it could have been a way for her to make conversation with me without being too direct. Either that or the fact that I had my hair cut by a different hairdressor after she said I should come in for a haircut.

I told her that I wasn't mad at her I just didn't see her walk past me. Really brief conversation and then I was like my friends are leaving so I just said bye and that's it. Didn't act needy, didn't say we should meet up, just left it at that. There wasn't enough time for anything else as it was closing time and everyone was leaving.

I have her number.... would it be AFC to msg her? Make up a reason to be mad at her but make it playfull.
