| Tonight...
I was out again. Not with an intention to sarge but just to have a drink with some friends. I was getting bored and started talking to a guy in the bar. Suddenly this one guy comes along and tells me that he has something to show me. (I know him, a good guy, hes kind of "working" in the place so he greets more or less everyone.) So he introduces me to a girl he dont really know anything about, just that she is from the same place as me.
I introduce myself and we start chatting about whatever, I dont really remember. Just the usual, what you do for a living and what you do for fun, how your life looks etc etc. It appears that she is waiting for a friend, that s nice, I kind of wanted to move along anyway so I have a natural timeconstraint, excellent.
We talk for a while and the other girl arrives. We get introduced and the girls grab a table. I am just about to move along when the first girl call me back, hey do you care to join us.
"Yeah, sure, I thought you hadnt seen each other for a while and needed to catch up but yeah sure, great!"
So we get to chatting about everything any anything. I get along with these people really well. Suddenly an AFC comes along, starts talking to the girls and/or me. At least he acts as if he is one of my people. I have no idea of who that guy is, hes lame and invasive. Might have talked to him once or something... But it is interesting how many people you know when you are in a set with girls isnt it.
Anyway, I handle the guy pretty well but he doesnt take the hint so I start talking to one of the girls in another language that we both speak and he goes away after a few minutes. (I talked to both girls in a different language just to give him a hint.)
HB8: Did you know that guy?
Ezo: Eh, no, I have no idea, I thought you knew him, he was wierd.
HB8: Totally, completely clueless about social signals.
Ezo: Annoying guy...
Going into a little talk about guys and AFCs etc etc, showing some social skills etc.
After a few moments the guy comes back and we ignore him again. This time he needs only a few moments to realize that he is out. Come on, if he wasnt wanted the first time he will not be wanted a few moments later, what a loser.
We get into talking about similar situations, social dynamics etc, I mention my friends and how they have been in awkward situations etc.
I wanna point out that I have not intentionally flipped any DHV spikes here!
But in retrospect I realize that all of the important DHV spikes came up in conversation. The girls asked for them. I could not fail these tests. I just answered truthfully.
The point is that I HAVE an amazing life. I have a high social status.I have social skills. I can emote. I am preselected. I am playful and funny. I do connect with people. I have a cool job. I am a leader of men. I can go on for a long freaking time with the list!
I dont need to tell stories to pass the tests. I dont need to intentionally flip any switches.
If I want to DLV, I have to lie! I have to lie to make myself uncool! It was an amazing realization!
If you thing I write this just to brag, think again. There is something to be learned from this.
A lot of newbies think that it is bad to game since you pretend to be something that you are not. That it is false to tell stuff you havent done. That it is wrong to lie about your life. That it feels strange to fake it till you make it.
Guess what, I made it.
At this point, I do not have to fake anything, I am cool just by being myself. And THIS, gentlemen is what the game is about. Building a life where you dont have to pretend, do not have to play games.
For all struggling guys out there, focus on getting a life you can be proud of instead of focusing on how to best fake it. Build a life, not an avatar.
