Lets say that you are in the opening phaze of gaming a girl, and you over negged.

The neg would be more of a slap on the face and an insult rather than a backhanded compliment.

Any suggestions on how to recover?

A neg is taking away her value. To recover just build it back up. Be nice but dont raise her value higher than what it was. Hard to judge i know - but if you negged 3 times too much give her 2 IOI's. But just carry on gaming. Depending on the girl - She wont get seriously offended unless all you do is neg.

Ah! I find my self in this situation a lot where my negs are on the border line of an insult and I explain that I did not mean that to sound so insulting.. but then follow it up with a neg (and of course a smile, let the game continue) .

P.S., Negs are not meant to necessarily lower her confidence but to make you seem like you are not a threat by displaying 'disinterest.'

I usually tell a stupid joke. I got lots of originals. This one worked the other night.

"DAYUMMN!"

or like how Brian from the PUA season 2 says his silly one liner:
"I like pickle juice"

change subject and don't neg. Always seek to display higher value.
