So...

Today i went out with a few friends to watch an early showing of transformers and this girl whos only affiliation with my group was me decided to join us at the last minute.

All i can say is in retrospect i totally feel like i fucked this up.. or at least mist an opportunity..

I went into the night with my mind set to be an 'open social person'. i watched my friend the previous night and observed how he seemingly commanded the attention of whatever group he joined by spreading his ridiculous humor and happy mood.

So i attempted to do the same..

my jokes were pretty lame and i almost feel like i was trying to hard and not really being me... i know that when im with the guys im usually one of the funniest dudes around but that is because i feel like my humor with them is more compatible.

Tonight i got the vibe that rather then being a person who controls the mood and adds to it that i was a jester on the side saying silly jokes that eventually became slightly annoying..

So my question is what is the differencen between joker and alpha? or rather, how do you portray alpha while at the same time being funny without coming accross as the joker?

I fully understand, dude. I do the same shit. When I'm just with some friends I'm funny and socialable. But when an HB enters the group (last time it was a friend of a friend that showed up at the bar that was smoking hot and just broke up with her bf) I totally fall flat. My jokes aren't as good and I end up shutting up and closing off. At least you were going for it. You'll calibrate, it always takes time and there is always more you can learn from doing.
