I thought this needed a preface. It may seem utterly bonkers, but I suppose that was the point.

I was stuck with a choice: Bus into town and go somewhere (cost: $4/day + cover charges) OR reinvent a small portion of a wheel in this regard. About a month and a half ago, me and a couple friends who had about 80 friends on facebook decided we would try to reach out a little more, and made it a competition. I am in the lead now with about 440 friends, most of whom I don't know, but I know people who know them. This may create awkward situations with asking out the ex-s of friends, as I quickly learned. So I thought of this: I am just some unassuming bloke facebook-chatting with these ladies. I could use the standard openers, do my level best as a newbie. I figured I could actually do a little better, considering the pressure is low. Then I go ahead and try for a day 1.5 if she is really getting into it.

I did this 26 times today. And I don't need to tell you that things like plowing don't really work, as they don't even look if the message count goes too high. I got one girl interested enough to try to suggest our 'hanging out' might be odd considering she dating my brother a few years back. Well, IT IS NOW. Actually, though, he hardly remembered her, they were together for a week, and probably didn't even kiss (my brother is _pretty_ AFC). Whatever, she wanted to meet, so we will see.

Any tips or advice for setting up a Day1.5 (talking online and meeting in person)? Because I was like a fish, flopping around. Seriously, please.

Okay, so I took five to brainstorm, and I polished up my shit. Talked to four more girls today, and two of them are going to meet me at the same day2 thing for social proofing each other, and because only the fittest shall survive, like some type of well-dressed darwinist fantasy.

I think the most difficult part for me in getting the other girl to contribute. Any ideas on making them more engaged?

One of my problems is that I have too much deep rapport in small talk. I do _very_ little canned material, as I have had hour long conversations about Eagles or Walnuts and such. That isn't really an opener as I need wider rapport an hour in to a conversation (never spoke this long online, though. I tend to average maybe 40 minutes online, and that is start to logoff). I try to incorporate it as much as possible, but at the end of the day, if my shit is flowing, even if I am not in state, I figure that may be better than not being in state talking about something else.

And trust me, the Eagles or Walnuts thing is actually interesting, although I try to shift out of it as fast as possible for those reasons.

haha that made me laugh. Now I do not have much experience but many times you will see yourself interrogating. I thought that this means the girl was not interested but in fact some girls are shy even online. Try to connect with her ask her what kind of music she likes etc, then go to youtube and start exchanging music you guys like. I know it sounds corny but it has worked for me.
