Now for the question to end all questions, I wear the trouser leg over those as they are short topped but with the longer ones what do I do?

In short how do you wear cowboy boots?
Pants tucked into the bootleg is what's known as "going goat-roper" where I'm from in the south, and is generally done as a joke rather than a serious fashion statement by people who aren't, in fact, goat ropers. If you are, then it's probably acceptable.

I would go trousers over the top all the time.

/\ this and they send out a different message to sneakers, people wearing sneakers wear what everyone else does and in my opinion have little style (sorry guys its just how I feel about mass produced filth), boots are usually made by hand and unique. I like that, they also last pretty much forever if looked after properly.
Yes but if you are not from the southern states (or the country) people will laugh. They seem like something that people that want to look tough would wear.

oh yeah but isn't that the same with any item of clothing. I pretty much have 2 wardrobes depending whether I am in the north or south or the UK. It comes down to knowing what works and how far you can push things.

Those are ok, but I think alot of people associated those with older guys...

Anyway I have quite a few pairs from Oliver Sweeny, they're great if you're looking for something smart with a bit of flair.

Chacos all day every day. Probably wouldn't like these unless you live in Colorado or similarly crunchy state.
