Hey,

I'm seriously considering getting into photography. I have some friends who work for "mens magazines" doing glamour work and, although I'm not really interested in conventional "glamour" work, I do really like alternative glamour, and interesting type portrait pictures, which are areas I'd like to get into.

I'm just curious as to what you guys think on this subject (which is secondary, don't worry... I'm not crazy) -

Would an alternative glamour / portrait / nightclub (I know some people that do this too) photographer have HIGHER or LOWER value as a result?

On one hand, you're constantly around beautiful women, and they're always contacting you.. girls in clubs are constantly wanting you to take their photograph and possibly taking to you as a result.. but at the same time, I have this nagging feeling like photographers might inherently just have lower value than those they're photographing. Maybe because it's sort of a given that the person you're taking pictures of is better looking / higher value than yourself.

Any thoughts would be awesome..

Either way, I think it'd help my confidence, and be a fun new hobby.

- Expants.

Personally I think being a photographer is a definite DHV. After all, attractive women like having their pictures taken. If you bring a camera to a club, and I mean a real digital SLR not a little pocket camera, it gets you a lot of attention. Just be sure you clear it with the manager before you go in playing paparazzi.

Don’t see photography as THE solution, but more as part off. Done right with some flair/mojo/body language/story telling it could be the way for you. But I often see those club photographers as just another creepy guy who jumps to the hoops of girls.

I run a sideline business doing wedding videography... during the evening i get guests to record special messages for the bride & groom.

I used to hate asking ppl to do it at first, and would approach them and ask them to do it... they didn't seem so sure.... but after a couple of weddings you would be amazed at how many HB's will follow you into a room on their own... and all I say to them now is 'can I borrow you for a second?'

In fact, ive yet to have one girl say no. And the most amazing part is that they have no idea why ive asked to borrow them. Even more amazing, most of the time, especially the really hot ones will sound disapointed when you get them alone and ask them to record a message... most say 'is that all you wanted me for?!'

I guess for the really hot ones its like 'look at me, some guy as asked to borrow me and is taking me into a room'

what im trying to say is that yeah... it does give you DHV but its more of an excuse to approach... you get much more DHV by just asking to borrow them. But hey if its an excuse that gets you talking to women - it works so go for it!

I agree completely. Don't think that by toting around a camera girls are just going to magically melt for you. It's more of an aide to initiate conversation and break the ice, and to get some nice social proof to take home with you (a camera full of hot chicks posing is always good proof). It should be an extension of your game, and not a tool to substitute for it.

Sorry, I don't think I explained properly.

I don't think that by 'toting around a camera' people would melt for a photographer, I was just asking if you guys see 'being a photographer' generally as something that would demonstrate higher (or lower) value. That's all I was really worried about.

I don't see it as a possible substitution for real game, at all - it couldn't be.

My only concern was that it would demonstrate a LOWER value and work AGAINST me.

Well again.. the photographer with lower value usally is the creeoy guy. If you have enough game it wouldnt make you much lower or higher.. probably just a way better opener.

You have to make it DHV ... it's all on how you use it.
