Hey, I'm new to the forums and am probably in the same boat as many other guys but-

I talk so much better to people, espcailly girls if i am someone different. i guess alot of PUA do so have a nickname, right? for example a PUA would introduce himself as "hey I'm Mystery." not "hey, im Jerry Springer." etc.

How would you go about choosing such a name? To my friends I'm Sooty. (english show with a bear that does magic tricks) but thats who i am. I want to be someone new... any suggestions?

Well, I know I have a nickname of "JSmooth" here on the forum but I don't go around seriously introducing myself like that... I'm Jon! Nice to meet you.

It really doesn't matter what you want your username to be here or your PUA name. Don't worry about what others think... the PUA name deal is kind of stupid anyways. Just do this for you.

When I was younger I used to do really reckless things like jumping off use ramps with rollerblades and bikes, which made me get hit by a car 4 times. Lol. I only got seriously hurt ones though, I broke my ankle. And since I took a lot of needless chances when I was a kid my friends started to call me Gamble. And since my original name, Ido, is a lot harder for women to understand I just use Gamble.

maybe for the very principles the nickname of a PUA come from (prevent ex-sarges to find info about themselves on forums and shit, using a fake name) the introduction "hey, I'm Teague" is pretty stupid and lacking of sense.

BUT... and correct me if I'm wrong..

If I introduce myself with "Hi, I'm Teague" instead of "Hi, my name is Henry Jackson" it contributes to develope a certain sense of familiarity between me and the set in their minds.. think about it, they are calling me by a nickname, thus subconciously the feel more familiar with me, kind of like using bouncing to create the illusion they've known me for more time than a couple of hours.


Does this make any sense to anyone? Or is it just that white powder I found at my friend's talking? hahaha

It makes sense to me. Its a good way to establish some quick rapport. Since all my names in life get shortened I have girls call me "J."

then JSmooth on the forum
and a lot of my community friends call me "J" LOL

Anyways, yeah I will introduce myself as Jon but tell them my friends call me J, so just call me J. And sure enough when the call me Jon, I'll correct them.

Doesnt matter at all, except if you have prospects about being a successful MPUA, a good name as "Mystery" is good cause denotes a powerful image to sell his product.

I agree with the others. You may have heard the advice "just be yourself" While I agree with that I think you must first find out who the heck yourself is. You must ask yourself am I the type of guy who wants to hide my identity from others in order to not be ridiculed and not have to own up to my failures, or am I the type of guy that yes I fail sometimes, but from every mistake a learn more and more. While I agree with trying different roles in order to find out which one makes you most happy in the long term I do not agree with hiding my identity in order to do it.

thanks thats really constructive. i beleive its best to be yourself and that your identity doesnt have to be hidden, just not revealed completely. this way your more intreuging and can hide a little from socail pressures. thanks guys.

yeah my forum name has nothing to do with PUA'ing its my gamer handle lol.
Real name is Kim, Nice to meet you all. recently my AKA turn into D.K( drift king) well not because i do drifting its because my friends say i look like that D.K guy from Tokyo Drift (but more handsome ) when i go out gaming i use my real name. on a funnier note
