How important is it to rely on canned material as an rAFC trying to get rid of my approach anxiety and at what point does it become a crutch rather than a tool?

I went out last night trying to sarge but I chickened out approached one set, lied about where I was from to seem more interesting (I said I was from Nevada, it added nothing to the conversation) but then one of the girls (they were also both equally hot so I didn't really have a target) mentioned she lives in the same town as me and I wanted to say "Me too!" but had already lied about where I live and came from... I feel like if I had more canned routine they wouldn't have walked away... haha. I got so upset after that I left, besides there was nothing there but fucking parents, couples and teeny boppers...

All of this is up to you.

Canned material is good to have. If you feel like you need it and would be comfortable using it, then use it. If you feel uneasy then dont. You do not have to use it if it feels wrong.

It can become hindering when you have told it so many times that you stop caring. It sounds mechanic and unnatural. That is a sign that you might wanna try to get your own material. But the truth is, everyone (almost) use a routine now and then. What is a routine? Merely something you have done often enough to know it well...

i think the point that it becomes a crutch is when that's ALL you rely on for your interactions. Also it becomes a crutch when you don't understand/or learning why these canned openers and routines work. You are not taking them and exploring.

i think its important to use them as a learning tool
study why do these things that mystery and all these PUA's say to say work

if you do that you will really (i truly believe) jump start your game
and basically be able to come up with your own kick ass stuff
