The furthur this thread goes the better the advice gets!
Firstly my initisal observations and stereotyping of you.
You look 'creepy', unsociable, non alpha male, and as though you dont get laid.
sory for the harsh critisism but it is necassary to know your faults before a change can be made. Also i dont know much more about you other than those two photos and this thread!

What seems to be the cause of a bad picture to me is:
1 - bad personal presentation.
This includes subtleties such as your display of confidence, posture, your smile - this shows your probably not enjoying yourself that much during that photo. your eyes are not displaying any character in particular again negative as that can give the viewer a perception of your personality and you display of energy - i cant feel any positive or negative energy displayed from you just emtyness. this will make people think that you're boring.
2 - Bad sence of style:
Look at someone who is your hero. A typical alpha male. infact look at anyone who you percieve to be alpha male or a person who regularly gats laid and think... what does this person wear that i do not? and change that about yourself. The fact that you wear conservative and "not out there" clothes suggests to me that you are rather shy or that you are not a risk taker. Wear somthing out there and differant that seperates you from the rest of the crowd. but guess what you will need confidence for that and you must believe in yourself.
3 - Bad social presentation.
your taking a photo from your friken webcam! this tells me that you dont get out much! go and purchase a camera they are fairly cheap now days! go out socialise. It doesnt matter who you take photos with. family friends, pets, work associates. as long as your displaying energy and enjoying yourself during the shoot!

OK again appolagies for the constructive critisizm but unless i explain to you what your displaying in your picture (through my perspective) you wont understand whay the actions mentioned above will seriouosly help you (and i dissagree with the tan. Its a plus but not necassary. im naturaly pale and i get arounmd fine)

1 shave your head. once i did just that to prove to myself that i could pickup when i looked completely ridiculous. In the end girls found itt HOT and loved it. mission failed. but i was happy to know that I can look good with a shaved head!
hit the gym! you dont need to be ripped or a bodybuilder, just present yoourself as a healthy and fit person. From what i see you do not look fit at all.
You look like you should wear clothing similar to neil strauss shirts and suit pants that sort of stuff. just make sure its stylish and not your boring blue working shirt.

enough from me for now. hope it helped!

This is creepy old uncle look, not the tiniest bit attractive or sexual.
I wish I could allow you to see what I see. Your current avatar is coming off creepy as hell - Much like Style before he shaved his head and got a tan.

About tans: yes they will probably increase your risk of cancer. So does eating toast or an overly done steak. If you don't burn, you will be fine. The great part about tanning beds is you can control the amount of UV you get. With the sun, you can't. 30 minutes in the sun one day could be the same as 5 minutes in the sun another. That would mean the difference between getting a cancer causing burn or not.

The pedosmile is also not helping. Show some teeth. http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net ... t_the_pedo
Wow, haha. That link to that website was something else. I was laughing so hard for so long taking that quiz!

Yo tiemnao - as a fellow English chap let me throw my 2 pence in.

First off, you should be congratulated on putting your pics up for other to pick apart - most guys enjoy the annonymity of the Internet - fair play to them, but it's always good to see someone who is willing to share a bit to improve.

Can I ask a question, it might have already been answered and I missed it, but how old are you?

On the suggestions so far, the shaved head would probably work for you looking at your pics - to be honest, I would just do it as there probably isn't much you can do to style your hair. But it's not my hair so that's easy for me to say. When I started out I went the opposite way - grew out big curls - really stand out and is a good talking point. Think on it.

Being a fellow pale Brit I actually am all in favour of a slight tan. Bare in mind that one of the key evolutionary elements of attraction for a woman is seeking a healthy hunter-gatherer. So for me slapping on a bit of fake tan just gives me a slightly healthier glow. Try building up a gentle shade and see what you think.

As for DHVing in your photos the previous posters are right go out and get photos of you in clubs. Failing that go to tourist places and ask someone to take a photo of you in front of a cool building/site, failing that stick your camera on delay and take a long shot - you can always clip it a bit later.

If you want to hit me up to chat about gaming in England send me a message, always happy to chat with a fellow gamer.

This is a good idea and I'm starting to use it to improve my approach and social skills as well. Basically I just go around the tourist spots in Geneva, this applies to any large place really, and I just ask girls to take photos of me in front of statues , shit like that. Managed to get chatting to 2 American girls today. Got a good photo and a good chat. One was a miserable looking bitch but the other was quite chatty and got to see her tattoo, just behind her ear. i had a bit of a touch which was nice. Chatted for a bit and then the conversation ended. Didn't really know how to progress it. If only I could have separated the chatty one. I want to try and progress it for getting pics with the girls.

Tried it again with 2 girls in another area. Mainly perfunctory to get a pic as their English was very limited. It can be a pain in tourist areas as language may be an issue. You just don't know sometimes. Thankfully a large amount of people in Geneva speak English.

I may just start taking my camera everywhere to get potential good shots

It's probably stating the obvious but the 2nd pic where you're in red was much better than the first. These webcam pics are washed out colour wise and let's face it lofi pics are associated with horror movies think Blair Witch and any other grim movie. Also there's a tendency for some pics to be static with no impression of movement.

My best pic of me smiling is a pure webcam one. I must get a proper one done it will be formidable. The colours on the webcam one are crap.

Mobile phone pics tend to be good for spur of the moment conveying action. Quality is not great though.
Higher quality pics with a camera tend to be staged more. Try to avoid poses
