hey, all my friends call me DEP, i was just watching TV, the VH1 show "The Pickup Artist" and i was dumbfounded about this whole idea of pick-ups, and i looked into this whole new world to me and was intrigued and amazed that stuff like this even exists and my hopes of being able to do with women that i always wanted to do have been raised, i mean i slept with 3 girls in my life, im only 22 years old, my problem is that i cant attract the girls i want, i kinda just take what comes my way, i do have standards and i know what kinda girl i want and i've been lucky to fuck the girls i fucked because i tried and it worked for me and i got the pussy but my skills in the game are 0, i cant walk up to a girl and pick her up, i've always been to nervous or afraid of some stupid shit always going through my head and i just cant get the nerve to say what i want to say to women, and i just bought the book, The Game by Neil Strauss or "Style" as he's known in the community and its really interesting and it shed a lot of light for me on this whole new world, i've been doing a lot of research in material and a lot of reading and studying, i want to learn this art in its entirety from beginning to end, if thats even possible, i wanna be a master pick-up artist and i will not stop until i earn that title, so just wanted to introduce myself, give a little bit of info about myself, i hope to meet many of interesting people in the community, support is never bad and hopefully i can accomplish my dreams and live the good life filled with women i want

Love your ambition.. here's what I think are the 3 most important things you need to do

1) read read read. You'll then have the theory covered

2) practice practice practice. Then you know how it works in the real world

3) Don't be afraid of failure. It's just a step on the path to masterdom

DEX, you are ABSOLUTELY right, reading is the key, practice is the lock, once you read and obtain the key and open the lock by practicing, many many doors will become more easily opened that one may have never known have existed, this is all assuming that the fear of failure is gone, and i wish that was something that was never programmed in anyone's mind, fear is just a bullshit feeling that prevents a lot of great opportunities and experiences from coming into one's life, but you are right about your post, i agree with you 100%

Welcome to the forums, and way to go on starting with The Game. I wish I would have done that before jumping in. Neil Strauss's book shed a lot of insight on what to expect from a PUA lifestyle both the good and the bad depending on what you expect to gain from this lifestyle. I suggest reading many different books by different people. Wayne Elise is probably my personal favorite right now. Better know in The Game as The Juggler.
