a kiss on the cheek could backfire though if you havent made it there yet on the "kino ladder"... and you may not what to throw up that big of a hoop without some confirmation of compliance first...
in many contries that is considered a proper hello/goodbye (the french goodby routine =)
I greet almost every girl i know with a hug AT LEAST.. this is even girls i barely know or dont even game...
I would say that is easy, and doesnt push any social pressure switches like a pre-mature kiss could
