I heard about this on askjdog.com. yeah JDOG from the first season of the pickup artist has his own website... it's not bad however not very extensive but it's only a few months old so give it time.

anyway what JDOG says to do is make your own stories out of your life... this got me thinking. so i decided to make this Assignment.

At the end of each day take maybe 15-30min to take one interesting event that happened to you throughout the course of your day make it an interesting Story with DHV spikes and Humor. Doesn't matter if you have to change it a little so long as it's still your story.

By the end of a month you will have 30ish stories that actually happened to you, and maybe 15 really good ones.

Post some of your stories and get feedback on them.

Sorry i just realized I should probably write down at least one of my stories just to get things going.

This is one I use if a conversation is running stale and i need to jump start it.

I start off if there is an awkward silence by humming "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" by the proclaimers. Then I look at her as though i didn't realize what i was doing. and say:

ME: ohhhh sorry, haha have you ever had a song stuck in your head?
HB: haha yeah all the time.
ME: well I've had this song stuck in my head for about 3 weeks. haha. It all started when me and my ex-girlfriend were on a bus heading to Rideau (which is a local mall) and there was this homeless guy at the back of the bus... who was clearly drunk, which was weird because it was 1:00 in the afternoon. But anyway were on the bus for maybe 5 minutes and out of no where this guy stands up and starts singing at the top of his lungs "I'm Gonna Be" by the proclaimers. do you know that song?
HB: yes (or no it doesn't really matter I guarantee she's heard it so just remind her)
ME: this guy is just getting into it and he is dancin' around swaying back and forth absolutely goin' all out. So this song has been stuck in my head for the past three weeks, do you have tips on getting songs out of your head?
HB: If she says no
ME: ohh well then what good are you? (playfully, this gets her to justify herself for you and go on from there)
HB: If she says yes and explains.
ME: if her suggestion can be done in front of her do it, if not tell her you'll have to try it later. either way conclude by saying "if only there was a way for my to get back in touch with you to let you know if it worked." (if she doesn't suggest phone number correct her by rolling off and/or negging her)

for the most part this story is true although the homeless man didn't sing I'm gonna be" but it's more recognizable so i decided to use it. and this happened about two years ago and not three weeks ago.

I particularly like this line because it goes from an awkward silence to a number close. and it has worked almost every time. (DO NOT USE AS OPENER!!!)

I like this idea.. Here's a story that happened to me the other day.. The story is kinda lame, but its whats on my mind... I actually told it to a girl I know that I bumbed into on day it happened. The conversation went something like this:

Me: do I have any Chocolate on my face?
HB: um no..
Me: I was just walking by the X university building and there was a bake sale booth set up for breast cancer awareness and I bought a cookie from there and it was a real messy one
HB: haha
Me: It was kinda embarssing too; they had on display a pair of fake foam breast, for people to touch and feel for a lump inside. As I was feeling it and after I found the lump, I accidently said 'woah, is this what it actually feels like?'. There was an awkward pause because clearly the girls at the booth though I was referring to the feel of breast and not the lump. I quickly realized that and I tried saving myself. It was a great combination of awkward and funny and in the end we all had a good laugh ...

i wouldnt say its a DLV just not enough higher value there kinda just neutral. its funny and shows that u support breast cancer fight which is great but try and put a little less emphasis on the embaressing part and show a little more higher value to turn that story into a great DHV
