I honestly didnt think it was going to be that easy. So its been a couple of days and was wondering what to do? Ive read on here some people say its better to text at first therefore reduce the awkwardness for both of us and some say its better to call. Any ideas on some good text openers?

well personally I always like to go with this simple one that everybody has heard a thousand times... but even if she has heard it, it will still make her laugh, Guaranteed.

ME: Stop thinking about me and smiling.

Of course this only works if she has your number, which I make sure of by calling the girl as soon as I get her number and say something like "Hey it works!"
