I have used Craigslist quit a bit. As a matter of fact my GF is off there.
You need to get her from email to IM to the phone to a date as fast as you can escalate it, while still building attraction and comfort. If you don't escalate towards a date you'll be put in the fiend zone pretty quickly.
A good way to set the tone for the interaction is in your first message be very direct with them about what you want. I'll flat out tell a girl that I am interested in dating a few people, until I find "the one" and when I do, then I'll stick to that person. Most women can appreciate this. That will help set the tone, but you still have to build attraction through teasing, DHV Spikes, push/pull statements, false disqualifiers, or whatever you choose to use.
You're thinking right, you just have to escalate! Each new level they are talking to you on shows more comfort that was built!
