I suppose I should start out by pointing out that this may be more of a personal rant than anything. But hopefully it'll help spark a discussion on arguably the most important factor in anyone, pua/natural/afc's pick up: State.

This weekend I had the pleasure of going out with a pua buddy of mine (mind you I usually go out solo) and I was ON. Met an attractive girl, bounced, etc. There was no one in either of the clubs I couldn't approach, hook, and game. Then came Friday, where I was, again solo, in a SUPER CROWDED and LOUD club (yea Im never going there again) and I was just ok.

By Saturday (had a date that night so no sarging) I was slightly down on myself for Friday's performance when I realized this:

You do not need to, nor is it physically possible to, be on fire every night. Its more important that you just keep trying your hardest.

Well no shit, I just stated something we've all probably learned in elementary school. But hold on a moment, if that was the case would I have been a bit hard on myself on Saturday for not being in state the previous night? No!

You see, I focusing on the negative. Focusing on what I DID NOT accomplish that weekend rather than focusing on what I did. So Friday wasn't an instate night. So what? I'm trying my hardest and I'm seeing gradual success. Furthermore, Thursday and Saturday were successes! Nevertheless I focused in on the "off" night that wasn't even really "off", just lackluster compared to ON FIRE nights.

In the end, and as a response to the topic of this post, I think I'm professing that the goal of being in state and on fire at all times is an illusion. Its not going to happen. You will have your good nights and your ok nights. And as you get better, the bar will raise and what was once a good night becomes an OK night. And what was once an unimaginable night becomes a good night.

Hopefully, I'll bare all that in mind coming this upcoming weekend.

A Minor point

this is true. everyone has their off nights, it's not human to be in a great state all the time. i remember i went out last wednesday and i just didnt feel like gaming any chicks, some of that was because i wasnt really feeling the scene. then i went out on thursday and had a great night. friday was sort of the same as wednesday but a bit better. then saturday was another great night for me. there are many factors that can influence a person's state.

While this is a good post about method game... I would argue that this has nothing to do with natural game, when it comes to natural game there is no state... there is simply you

My mistake, Doctor. I suppose I consider the concept of state, and achieving it, the trigger to allowing your natural game to flow.

Funny thing is, last night I stopped looking as "state" as a state. Instead, I'm trying to look at it as I'm always in one state, similar to what you just said.

The blueprint is about being natural and TD talks about getting into state.

Look through the discs again. TD also said that you are not a natural until your defult state is happiness. Getting into state are for the guys that are not there yet.

"Getting in state" is a tool which you can use to let your natural self flow more freely from your masculine core. That is why some can consider the use of state a part of "natural game."

IMO what determines natural game or not is if whether something was spontaneous in the field or if it was planned and executed. By this definition, you could say that nothing you read about and consciously apply in field is "natural" until it becomes a spontaneous habit. This concept could apply to techniques that get you in state as well, like when someone spontaneously uses a technique to get in state as soon as he thinks of it while in the field. Then I would classify it as natural game.

Also, "getting in state" is a way to increase your spontaneity. In light of this fact, I'd say that it would be fair to classify such a technique as a part of natural game in most cases.

Ah, but what the hell do I know. I learned everything about seduction "unnaturally." :P

A Minor is right, though. You don't need state to game. It's useful, but sometimes your mind and body will just feel low. Don't let your body's natural cycles become an excuse to blame yourself for not being able to "get in state" as easily as you did the night before. Game on anyway and just flow with it.

hey i feel and blame myself alot of the time. i used to get down on myself andget mad that a) i didnt approach/ or as much as i would have liked b) sets didnt go as planned or c) jsut wasnt "feeling" it ... like said in this topic, you can't get down on yourself or else you will only lower your confidence or you will use it to simply blame your game. like someone said earlier- you jsut need to go out have fun, and not worry if you were on or not-
