Today, for the first time I was caught up in an opener. The girl called it out and told all of her friends that she had seen the same opener on VH1...so the new show that helps out those poor guys that we can see on VH1 every monday fucks up some of our game. This was probably the first time i used the opener (...girlfriend kissing another girl...) So, any suggestions on what to do when called out, but for now on I am going to write down the openers they use and never use them again.

You got unlucky using a two-year-old opener that is both in The Game and on TV. Lesson learned.

The canned material still works on the vast majority of sets. If you get caught, either suck it up and move on or stop using mainstream material.

What some people don't realize is that the set is OPEN once she says she's heard the opener before. She's talking to you, you're talking to her, set's open. You could even go in this direction:

"Oh, did you see it on VH1 too? I heard it on there and wanted to see if that kind of thing worked, guess it does!"

And transition.

The AFC thing to do is get flustered and walk away. Suck it up and adapt.

Watch the show too, it's entertainment.

speaking of Mystery's show, I really thought Spoon might come out of his shell after winning the peacocking challenge and opening up to Tara. To see him give up after that seemed like such a loss. Not even just for women but for his life in general. "Oh I suck at this, I quit." Imagine how many people would die to be in his situation, he disappointed everyone.

I got called out too using the "would you go on the talk show" opener". It worked great for me tho, because I used the "I just wanted to see if it worked" transition and it was smooth from there.

lesson learned. Never use a pick up line that has been broadcasted on national TV, as well as printed in a best-seller.

Faugh to that i say!

Use them. Use them so that you get caught, because getting caught is the REAL opener.

Okay, maybe not... but seriously, Mech's reply was spot on.

Get caught? Roll with it. I got caught using c-vs-u a week ago.. turns out the chick knows Mystery's bootcamp sarge crew in London.. I number closed and plan to meet some of these folks when I get there in November.

Anyone see Space Balls? The Schwartz had nothing to do with the ring. The routines have nothing to do with your game. The power is inside you.

-1 to vh1 for making a show out of PUA's...

Its real easy for a girl to flip to vh1, but more of a hassle to go out and buy a book...
I just make sure not to use exact content, but rather use genuine content in similar situations as sited.
I just figure sht.. im the BOSS, and subconsciously i can just flow with it and easy talk hb's...

i never copy shit, its too easy to get caught, and too hard to get out of it..

Thats why I always said don't learn the routine but why the routine works. Then you can use it in any form you like - ie something new or that hasn't been on TV, in a book etc..

Way too many people read "The Game" and think it's a cake recipe - it isn't it's lessons on how to cook not what to cook. People mimic lines, routines etc then get fucked because the response wasn't 100% what the book said.

As Einstein said "anyone can know something - a genius understands it" or something like that.

I think you still had an opportunity to turn that around. That could have been a good conversation to make them comfortable with you. Im still a newbie, but I think you could have rechallenged her.
