Personally I took a look at the style of some celebrities/musicians that I saw as looking pretty cool and developed my own style based on a bunch of stuff I liked about theirs. I went for a sort of boy band emo look lol, as it does suit me

Im quite pale and skinny haha. And I love metal, hardcore, and darkish music.
I went for a mix with people like:
-Jared Leto - from 30 seconds to mars
-Matt Tuck - from bullet for my valentine
-Nate Barcalow - from finch
Cant remember any more at the moment. In rules of the game it talks about creating a style that attracts the sort of girls you want to pull, I love emos and goth girls ;P Fish nets just do it for me I guess.
I do look like a massive dick sometimes I know, but pea cocking is about not caring how you look, your comfortable sticking out and looking slightly stupid, usually the more stupid you look, the better it works (within reason). This shows confidence to girls and they find that confidence intriguing, and you desirable as a result.
If your uncomfortable about wearing ridiculous clothing (as I was at first) I would try building it up slowly (say wearing a hat that doesn't really suit the rest of your outfit or a tie with a t-shirt) and going out (even to the shops, possibly in a place where you don't know people at first). People may see you as strange but if you smile and greet them, you will find they will be intrigued more than anything. Girls will actually walk up and talk to you at times too, you know its working at this point.
I started by going to my local supermarket dressed with my grandfathers 1970s lamb skin jacket and tom cruise style glasses. I did look like a nob, but you learn not to care. Keep yourself calm and relax, its no big deal, your free to dress how you want. Some girls loved it and thought it was totally awesome.
After all, someone who looks interesting, flamboyant and eccentric, probably is interesting. Don't let agro guys control the way you dress, they will likely amog you at times and give you death stares, who cares at the end of the day? They just aren't comfortable enough to do it themselves.
Exposure is the best way to get over a fear, push yourself and build it up, you will start to not care what people think. Hope this helps,
