Here's a tip for overcoming AA that I found worked wonders for me and my wing. The theory is that AA is basically fear, so one way to overcome it is to reproduce the most frightening experience you've had in your life.
As you approach the place of sarging (Is there an acronym for this? Or maybe I should use 'the field'.. anyways), bring up the scariest experience in your life. In my case this would be when I went bungeejumping.
I mentally recall the experience as vividly as I can, standing in the little cage being hoisted into the air, feeling the weight of the bungeecord around my feet, seeing the ground disappearing below me, feeling that sickening churning of fear in my stomach, my brain going "ohfuckohfuckohfuckIdon'twannadothisIwannagodown", stepping towards the edge with trembling knees, the wind rushing across my body and hearing the voice of the instructor counting down from 3..2...1... and as I open the door to the club I throw myself off the edge..
After that, approaching a set seems like the easiest thing in the world, and the idea of girls being 'frightening' just seems silly.
Hope this will help anyone out there, give me some feedback if it works for ya!
Cheers!
