I'm average looking. Body is reasonably fit but nothing special; receding hairline and big gap between my front upper teeth don't look too well. What's worse - I don't have any good photos of myself in any activities, just those I made with a webcam.

I tried finding some clue on hotornot, the results were very random, I got results from 4.2 (=mostly 3 votes) to a single 9.0 I cannot explain (9.0 = mostly 5/6/7 votes, hotornot rating system is stupid). It takes ages to get results for any photo from hotornot, so I didn't check too many.

Any helpful hints? Bad photos in online dating decrease my chances of getting response to first contact.

TRUST me when I say your receding hair line is doing nothing for you. Shave your head. You WANT to stand out. You WANT to push yourself into doing things "scary"... there is a social pressure to fit in, but that is the wrong mindset if you want to be a great PUA.

Second, you need to update your wardrobe. I have a picture of me wearing a tank top like that when I was 3... no lie. Please burn it. Listen to the guys above as well. I'm terrible with fashion advice. Maybe take a look at Brad P's fashion bible... google it, you can find it free online

Also get a real tan, not a fake one. As you look like you don't go outside. And get more lighting when you take your picture as it is a bit dark.

Real tan is not possible in London. I thought about going for a tanning bed, but Wikipedia says tan ages skin, causes cancer etc. As a Wikipedia admin since 2001 I believe Wikipedia is always right, so I'll skip that.
Thank you, that's exactly the kind of advice I wanted to hear. Since I got back to the game after vltr I focused so much on overcoming fear of rejection and approach anxiety that I forgot about everything else including DHV.
I want to agree with you, and I'm not wearing tanktops other than in gym or during heavy summer, but my pics in tanktop score far higher on rating sites than anything else. I have no explanation for it.

How do you guys find out which pic is good? It takes me about a week to get enough votes from hotornot (~150) or babevsbabe (~50) for the result to have any meaning. Less than that and it oscillates like crazy.

You can't tan at in Great Britain? As far as Wikipedia goes, its a nice reference, but I wouldn't take it that seriously. You are only going to get those side effects if you tan really easy or you expose your self to the sun for long periods of time. Sitting out in the sun for 2 hours with sunscreen is not going to hurt you any.

About tans: yes they will probably increase your risk of cancer. So does eating toast or an overly done steak. If you don't burn, you will be fine. The great part about tanning beds is you can control the amount of UV you get. With the sun, you can't. 30 minutes in the sun one day could be the same as 5 minutes in the sun another. That would mean the difference between getting a cancer causing burn or not.

Hair: Firstly, either shave it or re-grow it. Search for Minoxidil.
Body: Start to work out. This makes a big difference.
Tan: Take a cheap holiday somewhere around the Med! I live in London too, that's my solution!
Clothes: Wear your best clothes in the pic

Context
- Makes sure that the pic is obviously taken by someone else, not yourself.
- Make sure the location is cool. Do not be taken against a plain background or against a messy flat.
- Smile.

Make sure the photo is interesting by either...
- Being pictured in a social environment, with friends, ideally including attractive female friends.
- Being pictured DOING something fun/cool/daring and look like you are having fun.
- Being pictured with an animal[/u]

This is my advice but I would get a hat, some kind of retro trendy (like a bowler hat but more square! dunno what they're called). Basically there are tons of cools hats that you could wear to peacock!

Also, dont sit at home in front of a webcam. You look like someone who has no friends and are a little lonely. Its crazy that people can make such assumptions from a simple picture but they can only make their minds up based on what they see!

My honest advice is: go on a night out. Even on your own, go hit your local bars and clubs, take a digital camera or borrow one and get as many pictures as you can enjoying yourself and socialising. Drag a friend or colleague out with you. Even if you have a boring night, you just need a selection of pictures with you in a busy place having a good time.

Women don't want a mug shot so they can see exactly what you look like in order to feel some kind of attraction. They want someone who is sociable, who is out there has friends, laughs, smiles and looks happy!

Go out and tell some women that you need to show you ex on facebook or something that you're over her and get one each side to be kissing you on each cheek. Get something like that up and it will be much more what women are looking for mate. Thats what this stuff is all about, its not what you as an individual look like, its the whole package you present for people to see!

You kinda look like a dork man! You can either shave your head! or you can do a mehow, spike your hair color it blond and get nerdy glasses and a whole load of funky clothes! If your a dork you may as well go out all dork! then thats cool!

But shaving your head makes a real man out of you! if you can run game with a shaved head when you’ve had hair all your life, mate.. your on your way to kicking major ass. Id recommend everyone shave their head at least once during this experience. The one thing I don't agree on is a Tan, you don't need a tan! you really don't being pale is still cool women will respond to either! IF she says "man your so pale", be like "yeah my dad was a eskimo, not much sun in the arctic" who fucking cares man, pale, tan, a wang on your head its the same thing.
