I have been a lifeguard for about 6 years, and if it is one thing that I hate, it is when people approach me on the stand. Believe it or not, all that sitting around on your ass has a purpose. They have to constantly be watching the water and what not. I would strongly discourage a stand approach because if she is any good at her job at all, she will be very upset. I reccomend waiting until her shift is over (a shift is hardly ever longer than 2 hours) and approach after she has transferred her saftey responsiblities over to someone else. As far as the confidence problem goes, just relax for god sakes. Whats really the worst that can happen? She walks away.
