I am big on analogies. I have been thinking about this for a while, so it was wildly ironic that Barney Stinson made a thread only a few posts down about PUA relating to golf, because thats where I am about to go with this. Let me give you some background on what I'm talking about....

I got a full ride in college to play golf as a freshman. I was f*ckin nasty in high school. But through college, I never played to my potential. Every round it was the same battle inside my head. People are watching me play, and they are telling me, "you don't have any confidence!" I think.. (well of course I don't I'm playing like shit). On my end of things, I'm thinking about the fact my lack of confidence is from my lack of results. On the other hand, maybe my lack of results is due to my lack of confidence. So I try to feel like I'm a badass before I walk on the tee. Feel like nothing can stop me, I still play like shit, and my brittle attempt at confidence is shattered.

Well now I'm in the real world and I play golf every once in a while for shits and giggles, but my problem now is with pick up. I am struggling between the concept of "confidence leads to results" and "results lead to confidence". Thoughts on this? Don't you need to have results in some form or another to start breeding the confidence?
