I used an opener from JSmooth on POF. On two very different females.

"You're attractive, but do you have any personality?"

I got hit back with

"You obviously dont since ur starting off a conversation like that"

and

"wow...way to be an ***hole!!!
yes i do have a personality...by the way!!!
bye"

I know JSmooth recommended this in his sticky at the top of the page... but everything from my experience in online gaming says this opener is poor. It is almost invariably a bad idea to try and make a girl qualify herself before you have generated attraction.

I did give it a test run a few months back and sent out 40 of this opener on PoF. Only 3 were replied to and all those three were negative. The problem was not my profile, I can get 70% response rates when I'm using my own openers.

A far more effective opener is something like "Hey, are you the girl I met at the swimming pool the other night?"

You'll get a very high response rate from things like that.

Coming up with your own openers are usually the best way to go. You should only use the lines posted here as a creative source and not actual lines to use. As I know at first it is hard to come up with your own lines. But once you get going it becomes easier to do.

Oh well. Shit happens.

Decided to just have fun, the one that called me an asshole, I just said

"Well, apparently you don't have a sense of humor"

The other I said

"You can't even answer a question."

Shit happens bro... Cant believe you got hit with that though... Ouch

Or... You coud've been like "Woahh... Slow down there tiger... Obviously you dont... I just gave you a compliment and obviously youi didnt take it very well which im assuming you dont like getting complimentes... Sorry if I hurt your feelings...

It's not the girls that are being bitchy - it's the opener that is crap!

This is a very common reaction from girls (or any human being)when you deal someone a hard qualifier BEFORE you have proven you have any value of your own. The real solution is quite simple... don't qualify before attraction.

You might be able to plow through it with some fancy lines, but why dig yourself into the hole in the first place?
