Short story from the other day:


"How do you like your eggs?"

She asks as she makes me breakfast. We just woke up and I just got out of the shower.

"Over medium is fine"

She is especially quiet right now... I can tell she has something on her mind, but I don't care. I have my own agenda to think about. I go about my business, ironing and preparing for the eventful day ahead. Finally she musters up the courage to ask me...

"umm....so why didn't we have sex a second time last night?"

Is this really what she is so quiet for, I ask myself. This is so insignificant of a problem that I contemplate not even answering her. I continue doing things, and my second thought is to explain to her a ratio that I have internalized to judge a value set. The sex/sleep ratio. What is important right now? When a girl comes over and we make our way to the bedroom, if I would prefer to sleep over having sex with them then it is a matter of days before they never hear from me again. I will replace them with someone more interesting, someone with a better tan, someone who does things slightly different.

"I was just tired."

Explaining that ratio is a little too brutally honest, so I just cut it down some. Maybe I shouldn't of had her over at all. I would have been up 3 hours ago and had more things done by now. Maybe next time I'll say no....but probably not. She leaves and I don't apologize or give any other reason. I have things to do. Today will be a good day...

Is it unusual to have sex only once?
