But sometimes I struggle with exactly what IOIs to look for. In The Pickup Artist, Mystery mentioned hair touching as an IOI. But I also know lots of girls just enjoy playing with their hair. I've been hanging out with 2 girls recently and I want to make sure I don't read an IOI that's not there. I noticed some hair touching certainly, but I just assumed at first that they were stroking hair away from their face. I also noticed increased eye contact with one. Are there specific types of hair touching that classify as IOIs? What other types of common IOIs should a newcomer like myself be on the lookout for?

Look at how they're standing, how they're looking at you. Their body language in general should be open toward you.
Prolonged eye contact is definitely an IOI.
Touching is iffy sometimes. If they touch your arm, touch back (not immediately, mind you). It's important to escalate kino to see where you stand. If you go to touch her hair and she pulls away, you're not where you need to be yet. Touch her hand if it's on a table or bar to emphasize a point and leave it there a second or two longer than you think you should.

EC is definitely one, accepting kino is one, her leaning to you...
