When you approach a set of 2 or 3 you almost want to game the obstactles a little bit (assuming they're girls). You've got to show the whole group that you're fun not just your target. And by giving the obstacles attention you're also going to create jealously. And jealousy is a very powerful thing when you're out there sarging.
If you visit the link above the one guy, UnderScore, even tells of when he befriended the obstacles and then the obstacles end up blocking out other dudes for him. It sounds awesome.
