Here is a convo I had with a girl on POF. I thought it went well but haven't heard anything back from her in a few days.

you listed that you were interested in bowling, remember? lol... here I got a joke I heard from my little cousin... Why do fish live in salt water?..... Cause pepper makes them sneeze! I hope ya get that one

I'm glad cause my cousin is like 5 so if ya didn't get that one we would be in some trouble....lol....now how bout you tell me a joke... and it better be funny...lol j/k

Oops. Let's to an instant replay on this one to figure out where we goofed. I like your persistence and enthuisiasm in this. It's just tough to make it work. I'm going to break this down a lot. I want you to know I'm trying to help and be constructive, cause I want to see you succeed!
This is where we started with our opener commenting on something she had in her profile. Now this isn't altogether a bad idea. But there is one major flaw or brick wall to this plan that I kept running into when I was developing online game and you hit it.

We are assuming she remembers what she wrote on her profile. Whether on facebook or a dating site women tend to forget these things inside a few weeks. I don't remember half of what's on mine and I teach people how to do this better on my online thread.

Again, a good idea from the point of gaining common ground and building comfort just didn't work out because of that. And you had to remind her which hurt us a bit, but not totally. You could start out next time with...

I see you like bowling. I bet you my strike can beat your strike!

That way she's reminded and the opener works a little better. No big deal just a bit or rewording.

Onwards....
Now I feel like we're the little court jesture from the dark ages trying to get the queens affection by telling jokes. This is about like asking a woman if she wants a drink in a club. We are trying to "win" her affection and high value people don't do this.

At this point it'd be good to go into a value building story or a DHV story as you see them called on the forum. You can transition to such a story by saying. "Oh my god, you'll never guess what happened to me..." or you can stack openers with something else if you want to make sure she's hooked into what you're saying.
So she is telling a joke back which is kind cool that you got her to participate which is a big part of online game. Getting people to actually start talking to you and interacting with you.

She tells this fairly lame joke, but somewhat funny. I like your response back to her. It's just right, in that we are coming off as slightly cooler than the girl which is one the path we need to be on. GOOD JOB!
And now this part is the kicker. The problem with this is A we're giving it to her like she should be the one to decide what happens. We need to get her information to talk to her. As men we are always leading the interaction, we should always be in control, and that is attractive to women.

A man saying, "Let's Dance! and when we're through we're going to be making out over there in that corner." is more attractive to a woman than a man saying. "Would you like to dance, and we'll see what happens." It's all in how you protray your inner confidence in those comments that makes you more or less attractive.

I hope that makes sense.

It's a little too soon to be exchanging this really. You might get it sometimes here, but really there is no attraction built yet, or any comfort really established. You don't know anything about each other.

What are you two going to chat about? This is why you go into value building stories that are real stories from your life. That way you two have stories shared, common ground, and things to discuss.

After a few of these are swapped then go for the IM contact or even a phone number if things are going really well.

You're on the right path man. You have some great ideas up there. We just need to fine tune them a bit.
