| I live on campus, so I know people a lot better now. I know the confident guys (the leaders) and the not so confident guys (the followers), and the difference is quite clear...if you are studying social dynamics, that is.
Let's start with the followers. These kids stick with one group CONSTANTLY. They feed off of them, in a sense. They react more to them, they cling, they WAIT. By waiting, I mean, they DO NOT LEAD ANYTHING! No conversation, no ideas. They do, however, try to vibe off the topics that one of the leaders begins, but it doesn't go very far. They attempt to make some offhand comments once in a while, but there is little to no reaction. Okay, we all know those people, right?
Now, the leaders are the ones that make shit happen. They are also the ones that tend to STRAY (keep this in mind) from the group (because they are THAT confident). They have nothing to lose, only more to GAIN. They walk off and are always unpredictable. The followers go, "Where is he?" and when he comes back everyone reacts to his presence.
Dominance.
That is what make's the Alpha Male. He goes for what he wants, and he usually gets it because his FOCUS is not on what the group is doing, it's on HAVING MORE FUN. Unlike the follower who is constantly worried about how he looks and what everybody else is doing around him, so that he can copy them...the Leader makes his own DECISIONS. He reacts the LEAST, if at all, and just enjoys the moment.
I'm very interested in this stuff, so if anybody has any ideas as to how to go about building this PRESENCE, please let us all know, so that we can make ourselves better, more authentic, and naturally confident men. This is the future of pick-up. Not lines and routines. -cshadyp
