So, i see a 2 set in a club, HB 7 and HB 8.5

I approach and ask how many times they've been hit on tonight. The HB 7 replies 0, and I ask them if they need help finding a dude. they reply "sure..?" and I immediately take them by the arm and bring them into the middle of the floor. I ask the HB7 if some dude standing on the wall is her type, she says "i guess". I go over to the guy and bring him over to the girls. I quarterback the conversation by promption the introduction and conversation, and the second it got stale i cut the dude out (steve) and tell the girls that if they want my help they cant be boring and screw up all the chances i give them. steve slowly retreats back to anonymity with afc friends.
I then go to ask if they are adventurous or boring. they say adventurous. i first ask which one of them is the smarter one, HB8.5 points at HB7, so i do 5 lies with HB8.5. we wager a drink to the winner. unforunately HB8.5 has actually played the game before and snuffs me on a drink.
I then tell them "93% of women masturbate in the shower, the other 7% sing, do you know waht they sing?" HB 7 and HB 8.5 reply with what song they sing in the shower. At this point i say you guys ruin everything, and that they were supposed to say "what" and i'd follow up with "you must the a part of hte 93%". they laugh, and i tell HB8.5 that i'll follow up on that drink, but first they ask my name and then i ask theirs. HB 8.5 grabs me by the hand and brings me to the bar. i tell her some dude in the club earlier winked at me and blew me a kiss and that i wanted her to analyze what i was wearing and tell me if it made me look gay (she compliments my tie choice, but says that it may be the reason). from here its just playful conversation until she tells me her friend told her i was "really cute" and that i should go dance with her. I tell her to give me her number so that i can get her fashion advice in the future before going out-- to avoid being sexually assaulted by a man.

From here it's all texting
Me: You totally lied!
HB: I did no such thing
Me: your friend looked like she'd rather die then go dance. My momma warned me bout girls like you!
Hb: Who is this?
Me: the guy with the tie that you decieved
Hb: how did i deceive you?
---- next morning ---
Me: It's ok, ill forgive you if you help me out with a problem i have
hb: whats the problem?
Me: just promise you dont deceive me again because if i do this wrong you could get me in a really sticky situation
hb: hmmmm
me: ill take that as a yes. ive been seeing this girl for last couple of weeks, like 3 dates max. last night she texts me and asks if we're boyfriend and girlfriend. what am i supposed to say to that?
hb: Mmmm well i dont think 3 dates couts as a relationship, but if u really like her and wouldnt want to share her with anyone then maybe
me: but ive only met her 3 times, how am i even supposed to know if i like her
hb: then you should tell her that
me: ok i'll try, but if she gets all hurt im blaming you
--- an hour later ---
me: alright she totally thinks i played her now. You owe me a new girl.
hb: sorry dude. all my friends r taken
me: ahaha, youre great, youre just like a little sister!
hb: thanks man
me: take it as a compliment, my lil sis is totally adorable!
--- a few hours later --- (i thought i fucked it up so i initiate without a response)
me: it's ok, well just stick to the original plan
hb: which is?
me: you dont remember?
hb: no
me: youre sposed to be my queer eye fashion consultant remember? some memory you have ;)
hb: sorry bud, i was totally loaded
me: that's ok, i didnt adopt you because of your suduko skills, i adopted you because you make me laugh
hb: adopt?
me: yeah, i've decided to adopt you as my new little sister. itll be super awesome
hb:i already have 2 brothers tho
me: thats fine, you can introduce me when we all sit down for easter dinner. you bring the cranbery sauce, ill bring the pumpkin pie! 3 is better than 2 anyways - forrero rocher always come in 3s and they rock
hb: ur sooo random
me: yeahhh but would you rather have a random older bro or a boring one?
hb: my bros are fabulous
me: yeah totally, were all going to get alojng so well i just know it! dont you think?
hb: dude i dont even know your name
me: jeezzzz its Mike, you told me yours but it was kind of loud... torey? corey?.... gertrude?
------ i let this go to the next morning -----
me: dude, you dont play by the rules do you
hb: mmmm why
me: cuz you know my name and you wont tell me yours
hb: tori
me: hahah then why didnt you say so when i said torey? youre so standoffish its kinda making me double think the whole adoption thing
hb: cause youre crazy wierd
me: lets not say anything we cant take back now ;)
hb: i would never want to take it back. i mean i dont wanna be rude or anything
me:welll would you take it back if you found out im not as "crazy wierd" as you think (never been called that btw -- im very hurt)
------ more time passes ------
me: sooo are you gonna say sorry for hurting my feelings or should i just adopt another cute lil sis to have text convos with?
hb: option 2
me: well i suppose it wouldnt have worked out anyways... youre a bit too emotionally abusive for a sensitive guy like me to handle :')

well there it is, forgive the long post. i'm fairly new to the pua game and this was the first HB>8 that i've approached and successfully # closed. did i kill the convo? what's your guy's read on the girl? Again, this is all very new to me, id like some criticisms or things done well

Ok, a lot of this is my personal opinion so take or leave it. I'm not an expert, but an objective viewpoint can never hurt. Hope this helps... :)

You came off too needy, bro. I've been there recently, and it's usually in retrospect that you realize these things. It felt like you were trying too hard to "be cool" and intriguing.

You had the right text material (really solid actually), but your inner game was wrong and you came on too strong. Cocky funny was there but over done so it seemed fake. I have that problem sometimes too.

You want to come from the attitude of "hey I got a couple minutes so I'll text one of the 97 girls that threw their number at me last night. Tory seems interesting let's give her a chance."

Also apparently you hit a nerve with her older brothers. She become defensive and you should have let that one go. Cut thread and move on to another topic. All comes with practice, man. I'm learning, you're learning. It's a good thing!

yeah i felt like i was being too needy and too "trying to be cool" the whole time while i was doing it. I know what i'm supposed to say (well not so much with the little sister thing-- someones gotta explain that to me) so i try to put it out there but it feels so unnatural, or just too try-hard. I guess thats why the in person part went a bit better than the text followup. where exactly did i wrong?

also, is there a follow up to that whole thing?

Honestly, i think we're going to have to accept this set as lost. She basically said "lose my number." I know it's super frustrating especially when you first start out with this whole game stuff, but the good news is that you've got your material down pat. It's like you had a full jar of mayonnaise (material) and you tried to use ALL of it all at once on one sandwich (set).

But it gets easier. Exponentially so. You MUST fail to get better. I know it sounds stupid and cliche, but, like IN10SE says: There are 4 steps of learning PUA that you MUST go through:

1. Unconscious incompetence - don't know why you fail
2. Conscious incompetence - still fail, but now you know why
3. Conscious competence - finally getting things right, requiring much effort
4. Unconscious competence - effortlessly successful game

To get to 4, you must experience 1-3 first. I'd say you're somewhere between 2 and 3, closer to 2. You're getting there man. You're analytical like me. We tend to analyze, analyze, analyze. It's good and helps you progress fast, just try not to beat yourself up too much.

I would recommend you look into some inner game stuff. Don't fall into the trap of obsessing over it, but you have to realize that inner and outer game must be improved simultaneously. In your case your inner game is lagging and holding you back.

Again, my friend, this is just my opinion, but hope it helps.

Hey thanks for the advice. I suppose it just comes to a point in time where you don't need to just fill in a routine or DHV story at random but rather know when to it's best to use it. I'll look into this inner game thing -- i haven't actually heard of it until today.

on another note... how do you get a girl's last name without sounding creepy or too forward through text?

"I have a lot of (insert girl's names) in my phonebook! What name can I distinquish you by. If your not feeling imaginative, I'll just have to accept your full name."

Would that work?

Why would you want her last name anyway? It doesn't serve much of a purpose right now and you'll get it sooner or later if the relationship continues.

Sometimes you'll feel an old, useless, AFC-ish, automatic inclination well up inside you and you'll really feel the desire to do silly things, like ask an HB her name before getting into A3, drop the C/F completely while in Comfort, or buy the girl a drink before she earns it through some compliance to you.

You have to recognize those old AFC automatic responses and suppress them until you no longer get them and your game is truly solid.

The reason you want her last name is because it's how you've rolled in the past, and it makes you feel comfortable to return to that after experiencing a little success. In everything you do, think "is this an old auto response or will it actually do something for my game?" If not, ditch it.

In AFC days I used to always get a girl's name and give her mine at the very beginning of the interaction (A1-A2). Soon after I began learning technique, I realized "what's the point to getting her name so early? I really don't care yet because she hasn't proved to me that she is interesting enough for me to care yet. Plus it makes me look needy."

And if you just want to keep from mixing up girl's numbers in your phone, use descriptors in parenthesis and the replace when you find out. Usually during a phone convo well into rapport you can do something like this:

YOU: so you know one of the first things i thought about when i met you was, "man look at those huge earrings!" haha, they were cool though.
HER: haha really? that's funny.
YOU: yeah, in fact thats how i put your name in my phone, Jessica Big Earrings.
HER: haha, whatever.
YOU: for real! hey so what IS your last name?

And I really do keep track of same-name girls in my phone with those made up last names. I met this girl from Atlanta not too long ago (HB6, Comes to Miami a lot so I'll use as a pivot to her much hotter friends). While on the phone in comfort/rapport, we had a convo similar to my example above. I told her I put her name in my phone as "Megan Atlanta." She said "Serious? That's hilarious! I put you in my phone as NERMOB Miami. What's your real last name?" and it went from there.

one opinion that i have is that you were txting her too much. and also you wernt really going anywhere in your conversation. Dont try to build value that you already posses you know? she already gave you her number so she must be attracted to you on some leval. Also i wouldnt keep on with the random coversations for so long. It seemed like your text game started out great but you didnt escalate it towards a day2 which is the purpose of the number close in the first place. I usually have a txt convo like this the day after i get the digits. Then make a call the day after that. Once again just my opinion and hope i can help.

Some great advice as already flowed in this thread, but I'd just like to add a little of my own to the OP. I enjoyed your post, seems like a lot of fun in the club with the girls.

I'm on the fence with the use of texting, I can appreciate it's usages. But for me, I'm going to say that you should use it as something to add a little sparkle to someone's day instead of engaging in a long drawn out conversation. If you can say it, call her, I wouldn't use texting to start a dialogue. I think that's where you'd lose it. Just text her funny comments, use some C&F, lay off the heavy stuff, she may misinterpret your message as you're not expressing yourself through tone, stress or expression which you'd be able to do on a phone call.

Anyhow, we're all here to help each other out, thanks for sharing with us. Better luck next time becasue there'll always be a next time in the field.

Great advice already, but a couple other things:

1. You're using opening material after #-closing.

2. Text game is a delicate thing. I'm not surprised she was freaked out by things like "You lied!" and "you owe me a new girl." Tone down the C/F and the negs... if you must, use smilies or lol. Also, in my experience, when a girl starts calling you dude or bud, that's not a good sign.

3. If your # wasn't in her phone, she won't know who texts her. If you call, there's a chance she'll recognize your voice, but a text message is just random. You don't have to say your name, but give a hint by referencing something that happened the night you met. This way, she's not put on the defensive by getting a text from a "stranger."

A way to avoid this is to put your name as your signature on your phone

thanks for all the helpful advice guys, i did feel like i was doing pretty much everything you guys were talking about. i've recently tried to put together some pickups at some other bars but they were WAYYY too loud. i wouldnt say it's harder to approach, but i just dont feel its very suave to be yelling into a girl's face and having her at best MAYBE understanding what i said to her. imagine me in a club yelling "DOES THIS TIE MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A HOMO?", i got tired of trying.
