You mentioned in your first post about showing interest early instead of your regular routine, I wouldn't really recommend this but it may help. If you're getting the vibe from the girl that you're too good looking and would never be interested in her, try being playful and add in some sexual innuendos.

Someone had mentioned using self deprecating humor; this is a good thing when you're trying to convey you have more than looks and are funny. If she mentions your good looks, be like "yeah I may have these perfect cheek bones, but I'm a terrible speller... don't tell anyone though, its our secret".

go ask girls and they'll also agree - a guy who is comfortable mocking himself every now and then in front of girls is sexy. why? because only a truely confident guy will do that without coming off as insecure or seeking compliments. also, it can be used as a disqualifier of sorts, showing that you're not concerned about impressing her.
