I won a copy of MM for a contest on another board for most effective costume on Halloween.

So, today, I was reading a few pages while I ate lunch at work. I am also going through Day 9 of the Rules to the Game Stylelife Challenge with the memberrs of Project DC. (How can I help them if I am not willing to do the work as well.

Day 9 is to open a mixed set with a hook and time constraint.

I am nearly finished eating an overpriced chicken salad sandwich at a corner bistro when two table away sits a mixed three set. I finish, and decide to open them. I flip open my phone, and have a brief conversation with my wing about takling later.

I hangup with him, but keep the phone at my ear. I approach the set.

I open the guy with, "Real quick. I am having a discussion with my buddy. He says cigarette and cigar smoking are the same. I say they are different. What do you think?" The guy answers, "They are different." I continue with, "Because I am a cigar smoker and he smokes cigarettes."

The women start to talk. I make eye contact with the HB8.5...she is hot, and has a tall stature. Everyone agrees that cigars are better, and that they are different. I say into the phone, "You hear that?" Then I hold the phone for them all, "Tell him what you said."

"They're different!" they say in unison. Just then, a couple more men come in to the group. Since Day 9 is only to open and not pull into the set, I eject, thanking them for their time and say into the dead phone, "See! I told you."

While no make out took place. No number exchange. No second date. I still count it a success because I grabbed my balls and opened a set that the AFC inside me tried to keep me from.

No matter how many sets you open, if you put too much thought into it, AFC will come back and keep you from opening. Sure, if I had thought about it, talking about smoking is not the best opener. But, I didn't think about it. Instead I did it, got a response, a simple IOI of a smile from the HB, and survived to have a daygame field report.

Anyone here can spit everything that you should/can/probably do... But when you do it, its completely different.

Why wouldn't you? To post a thread in the PUA Lounge (here), you need 50 posts. All the other free forum sections have no such restrictions.

I'm moving this thread to FRs.

My bad. My screen didn't show Field Reports until I scrolled down. I must have mised it before when I looked. I saw the Members area listed FRs and I could not get to them.
