To begin with background, I'm 18 years old and finishing up high school. I don't have any classes this semester and have been working, so I'm kind of out of the loop in terms of social situations. I don't have any so-called wingmen because the majority of my friends have gone off to College/Uni, so I thought doing the Facebook thing could help me out a little by meeting some girls who go to my school.

First girl I messaged. Not really any negs, but I just said I stumbled across her profile, saw we had a few friends in common and pointed out that having Garth Brooks in favourite music with a bunch of rock/metal groups was kind of odd, but interesting nonetheless. No response, nothing.

Second girl, I simply poked. Again, nothing. Just ignored the poke.

There's been a few more, same basic approach and nothing.

My question is - what am I doing wrong? I expected to get some form of response, but I've gotten nothing.

Most girls of quality wont respond to someone they don't know poking them on facebook. If she does, she's probably weird. Look, she doesnt know you, have any impression of who you are, nothing. I could help you with some FB help AFTER you met the girl, but ultimately FB is not a dating site. I think theres an application on facebook called "are you interested," and that would pair you up with somebody else using the application that has similar interests you do, thats the best I could do bud.

hopefully you will get more help from other people. I would give you my advice but my success with myspace is not very consistant. I get a good amount of number closes but then i dont use them right away cuz im busy nd i think thats a no-no on myspace or facebook. gives them time to worry that ur a stalker or just a looser who doesnt know what to do with a number. anyway i could give u advice but it would be a mix of good and bad so lets just wait and hope someone else can help u. keep reading the other threads, thats what im doing right now to try to learn about online sarging.
