NOTE: This was actually my first time at a pick-up attempt. Although it was a failure, I'm proud I went for it, and gained the experience.
I heard a story about Thomas Edison (or Alexander Bell... one of those inventor guys) in one of my classes. He was trying to invent the lightbulb or something and he kept failing. He was being interviewed by some newspaper and the reporter asked him how many times he's tried to successfully make a lightbulb and he answers some crazy number like 100 times. The reporter responds "So you mean you've failed 100 times trying to make a lightbulb??" and Edison replies "No, I found out 100 ways how to NOT make a lightbulb"
Just some reframing advice

Nothing is failure; it's always experience gained.
