I certainly agree with you guys who think words are important . . . but I also think that you may be taking this from only one angle.

Many of these jargons are surely used in military but these terms were coined for use in PU World by people who are soooo far from having anything to do with the military, that it's a joke. I mean, the fact that they "extracted" a bunch of these words from one of the corniest movies of the 80's should tell you something.

Secondly, these same words are also used in every day life that has NOTHING to do with the military or any hostile intentions. It's just the way you choose to view it. I see these jargons as a way for a bunch of nerds to somehow legitimize and more accurately, specialize something that is really nothing more than a particular study of social skills.

My initial question posed to the op was, "Which industry are you in?"

There is NO industry or field out there that does not use their own brand of idioms. To say that every industry and even social groups use their own idioms to "deceive and isolate, etc . . ." would be a bit one dimensional wouldn't it? If you choose to use the CIA as an example, then OK . . .I can understand that. Dish washers, taxi drivers, bartenders, coffee brewers, pastry chefs, scuba divers, ping pong players, etc . . . are you telling me that these guys want to actively isolate you and deceive you?

Perhaps I haven't met enough negative people who use these terms and seek out to harm girls or whatever. All I can say is when I first heard pua jargon, I laughed, laughed, and laughed . . .

i think sets are just the way to describe a group, like a 1 male 2 female group can be called 3 sets. no gender bias or anything..
