Can someone quickly and briefly summarize the difference between a PUA and a player?

Is being a player having multiple "relationships" at the same time with a few girls?

I think the main difference between a PUA and a player is attitude and intention.

A PUA is out there, meeting people, having fun, adding fun to the environment. To be a PUA you have to make an effort to understand yourself and understand women and their motivations. A PUA suports his(or her) friends and is interested in development. I have always liked the idea (I think it came from Neil Strauss) that a PUA wants a woman to feel better for having met them.

I think a player is someone who is all about themselves. Getting the digits all costs. I don't see a player trying to improve themselves or understand women. Most of the players I have know leave a wake of wreakage behind them (pissed off women, lies, etc) I think a player gives the rest of men a bad name.

I did some searching on different PUA forums to try to find an answer for you. What I found is that most did not make a seperation between the two. If a seperation was made it seemed to state that a player is more into one night stands and bedding anything that moves.

Strive's right. Being a PUA is being a player. It was what the girls will call you. PUA is just the name that PUA's have given themselves. Players tend to be naturals, and I guess PUA is just the constructed version, same thing, different name. As they say, Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Its the same game no matter what name is given to anyone we are all players in some form or another. A player is just anyone who plays a paricular game and shows some skills in it. As in all games some players have bad reputations, some need to be benched (AFC's) some are good at one particular area and some are simply ballin and whoring.

However, A PUA is a pick up artist an artist has an art. This is our art and our methodology. Some artist have a natural knack others perfect their art but the one thing most artists share is a passion for their art and a drive to excel.

To me a PUA is just an advanced, refined player with more options and skills.

Think about it would you rather be a ladies player or a ladies artist

They are the same thing.
Seducer, Lothario, player, pick-up-artist, Womaniser.
Whatever. They all mean someone who is adept at seducing women.

I know this is a bit off topic but does it seem to anyone else that the people who have been on this post for quite a while are more PUA and alot of the newer people are trying to become players (asking questions that will see them in the sack as fast as possible)? I think time is also a factor in the difference between PUA and player. Alot of people may start off as trying to become a player but as they spend more time with experinced PUA's they settle down and see that it has more to offer a person then just success with women. It bleeds into success in overal life if used fully.
