So last night I approached a 2 set - guy and girl - just for some practice. I wanted to try out "The Cube" routine but I couldn't remember it exactly, so I sort of made up a simpler routine based on the same sort of cold-reading that the Cube uses.

So I called it "The Room", it goes like this:

1. Imagine you're in a room with no doors and no windows: just 4 walls, floor and ceiling. What color are the walls?

2. Now imagine there's a window. What does the window look like? Big or small?

3. Now imagine there's a painting (or picture) of an animal on one of the walls. What kind of animal is it, and how big is the painting?

That's basically it. The color of the room is supposed to represent the person's world; how they view their world. Lighter colored walls (like white, light blue, etc) I initially said represented them being an optimistic person, while darker colors means that they're pessimistic. On thinking about it, I thought that these two options are sort of negative, so I'm thinking about making the options be "realistic" and "idealistic".

The window is supposed to represent how the person empathizes with others. A large window means that they have a huge capacity for empathy and can "read" other people very well. A small window means that they're not as empathetic and are more "shut off" from the rest of the world. Basically extroverts vs introverts.

The animal represents what kind of lover they envision themselves with. The guy in the set said that his animal was a panther, so I basically put the description of the panther (strong, dangerous, etc) on his ideal woman. The size of the painting represents how much of their life their ideal partner will take up. A large painting means that they would be a huge part of their life. A small painting means that they'd be a small part of their life.

This routine is by no means set in stone, and is really kind of a rip off of the cube so I don't know if I'll use it once I get good with the cube routine. But I'd like to see what other people think of it and what other things you might be able to add to it.
