ive just number closed an HB8 that i used to know in school when i was 8. she is hot now, and i havent spoken to her since age 8.

now, for me, unless things naturally progress, i find it a sticking point to think of how to act at this point. i know about waiting to call/text her etc. and i know the things to say/do, but there seems to be a barrier in my mind, which will ultimately lead me to, not calling her, calling her drunk, or just simply texting some lame shit.

all i need is a re-opener... anyone got any ideas?

Im also in this situation..but its a HB that I used to work with a few years ago. We worked together picking fruit during the summer months and her father owned the farm.. I txt her a little joke asking was there any work on the farm and made fun out of her saying she was a spoilt ;little brat

It went down well and we are meeting up again over the hols..I think she has a BF but im just looking to catch up

Think back to your days in school with her and use something from that.
Also tease her just like you would have in school...HBs love it

Also dont think too much about it..shes just a girl. No big deal!

Some guys say there is no "amount of time" how long you should wait to send a text.I used to wait 2 days before i sent a text but now i just do it whenever I want none of this playing around waiting shit.

also, dont make it complicated. you're overthinking the situation.
i normally just go with an easy text like "hey, this is X. thought i'd say hi quick before i head out/go to bed/whatever"

With a "friend" you've already known, text her sooner than later, "Great seeing you again . . ." (Enough said)

Also . . . if this is how you usually get numbers, you're definitely seeing a good number of flakes. You didn't differentiate yourself from 10 other guys who also got her numbers.

Always try to associate your number/face/name with specific, fun and adventurous events. You should have been talking about "fantastic" things that you would probably never even do together. . . then you should have associated those "fantastic events" with much more "accessible" events that you can DEFINITELY do together.

Fantastic events:

Scuba diving in Indonesia. Snowboarding in Chamonix. Surfing in Hawaii. Motorcycling in Vietnam . . . etc . . .

Bridge:

"Oh my God, the coffee in Vietnam is absolutely amazing!" . . . "That reminds me . . . the Bordeaux we drank in Chamonix was sooo good." . . . "Hey, ever try Shave Ice? It's this thing they have in Hawaii . . . "

Accessible events:

"This Ice Cream shop I know does Shave Ice" . . . "This new wine bar I know does Bordeaux by the glass" . . . "This new cafe does this hand drip coffee just like Vietnam. It's really strong." . . .

Emotions are easy to switch on, slower to switch off. Ever get really pissed off? How long did it take you to calm down? Ever see a hilarious movie? You're feeling giddy all the way out to the parking lot right?

So throughout any "fantastic" story, the girls should be going, "Wow . . . Oh My God . . . Cool! . . . . That's craaaazy!"

Here's the funny part. And when I get to it, I'm nearly laughing at how predictable this is . . . I go, "This new cafe does the hand drip coffee just like Vietnam . . . "

And they go LOUDLY, "No way! . . . Or, get outta here! . . . Or, are you serious! . . . Or, That's amazing! (Ehm . . . yes, the hole in the wall cafe that is run by illegal immigrants who use aluminum utensils and coffee pots because they can't afford anything else is really, really amazing. I am TOTALLY SERIOUS! OH MY GOOOOOD!!!)

So you go, "Oh, you'd loooove it . . ." and she forces her number on you.

Sure, this takes a bit longer but these numbers are much better quality and you never have to sit there thinking, "What will I say? What will I tell her?"

You just go, "What are you doing later?"

"I dunno. . ." (The answer is always 'don't know' or 'nothing')

Then you go, "Vietnamese cafe. 4pm." (Then you set up the details)

hmm sorry, poor prior info. she did force her number upon me, and I have plenty of event/story association to carry on talking about. Basically, my brain wasnt switched on to how well I # closed her, and how easy it is going to be to re-open.
