Hey guys,

Okay so I wanted to go on a date with this chick I know but I needed to give her an excuse to get her to go out with. Here’s what I did:

Step 1 (send email)

“I WON a gift card to Wildcraft this evening [I lied. Oh and Wildcraft is a restaurant].
Really funny story how- I'll tell you in person [this gave me an excuse to talk to her in person. Don’t tell her your funny story over email.] .

Email message continues: "Have you ever received something unexpected which made your heart thump and give you butterflies? [gets her in the right frame of mind]. My friend said that it's okay to feel excited over minor and unexpected things. [makes her comfortable]

If you know of someone who likes the Wildcraft menu, let me know because I'm interested in going for lunch one day to use it up. Or if you like the food there yourself, let me know because we could go and talk about our latest dog stories [Sets her up for asking her out. FYI- we talked about her dog once before so I know it’s a topic she relates to]. I've enjoyed our conversations and if you think about it, you might have enjoyed our conversations too [makes her think ‘yes I did’].”

Step 2 (give your DHV story on how you WON the gift card)

“I won it on the Radio! Yeah my friend works for Kool FM and does thoes remote broadcasts. He called me yesterday telling me he was at Fairview Mall and that I should come by. I had to buy some shit anyway so I dropped by to say Hi. But he was running an on-air contest at that exact time I showed up and he needed one last contestant for the radio, I didn’t want to, but I wanted to help him out so I agreed. Anyway to win the contest all you had to do was be the first to answer three questions right. I was totally nervous but excited at the same time. I was hoping the topic would be ANYTHING but politics and get this- the topic was poliltics so I know I’d be screwed. The first question was “Who’s on the $5 bill”. I answered first and got it RIGHT because I went to Laurier University [I'm Canadian but you can customize this story for the US or wherever] and it’s Laurier on the damn bill! I was feeling good. The second question was “Who was the first Prime Minister” I got it RIGHT because I went to Sir John A. MacDonald public school, and he was the first damn PM! I was on a roll. I forget the last question but I got it too and they congratulated me and handed me the gift card. Did you hear me win?”

Step 3 (close)

Tell her “So is Wednesday good for you or is next week better”. Notice I don’t give her a choice of declining, I just gave her a choice on the day. I presupposed that she’s coming with me. I feel alpha when I presuppose dates to chicks. I’m really truly a beta at heart so I love the way I feel when I do something alpha.


Voila, you’ve gotten her to agree to a date. I liked this method because she knows I’m not actually paying for the date with my own money. If you pay with your own money it's a demonstration of lower value (bad). So it's better if she thinks that you used a gift card that you won. The reality is that you will have to purchase the gift card yourself in advance, but who cares? As far as she knows you’re a guy with a great story and you’re giving her the opportunity to get to know you better.

This method isn’t perfect obviously, so I’d love to hear your comments, criticisms, flames, etc. My hope is that some of it will be useful.

i think it maight work but write a field report on how it goes and test it out somemore

I should have mentioned that this could also be considxered a Field Report. It's what I did on a Target I work with.
