I wear Polo Black. I think too much cologne is nasty and kind of smells desperate, personally.

The only cologne I've found that doesn't smell disgusting or sleazy or womanly has been Davidoff Adventure.

On squirt on your wrist, rub it on the other wrist, then onto the neck, that's plenty.

Armani Black Code.

Heh, I'm glad to see it keep popping up on this list so much. I knew _nothing_ about colognes and picked it out based on the scent alone and its been a big hit ever since. Surprisingly (after reading this list), not a lot of women recognize it, either. Its just, Oh wow you smell so nice, what is that cologne?

i havent experimented with many different colognes.. but what i would say is to stick to the same one if going out on a second date (providing the first went well).. that way the girl will bond to your odour. and whenever she smells that fragrance she'll associate it with you and with good times. for this reason i wear 'diesel plus plus'.. it's not too rare a fragrance that she wont notice it occasionally when passing people in the street.. and it's not too common that it reminds her of a previous bf or date (well.. the chances of an ex wearing it are slimmer anyway)

that's my 2 cents anyway :D

I try to change through different ones but standby classics are

Armani Code

Rocabar Hermes (to imply maturity more musky type scent)

Armani Attitude (very alpha)

My Colognes:
Burberry Brit - great for Fall/Winter/Spring. Also, can be used nighttime during Summer.
Davidoff Cool Waters - Great for the Summer. I get a lot of compliments. I used this during school trips, birthday parties, weekend parties, and church.
CK Be - All season use. I always get compliment everytime I wear this cologne. My Favourite! I personally recommend this one.
Aeropostale Body Spray - My alternate for Cool Waters.
Paris Hilton for Men - Great for school dance, prom, and formal. Not suitable for casual use.

Style made a suggestion in his book "the game" for John Varvatos. I have seen it on the internet but I have never smelled it. Anyone familiar with this cologne?

I have one that nobody has mentioned yet:

Clinique Happy for Men.

Seriously, women love this stuff. It's crazy the amounts of compliments I've gotten on it.

I also really like Kenneth Cole Reaction

Reading all posts I saw that everybody says something like "women love that smell" :D
Is there any POPULAR and not 5$ cologne that women does not like? :)
Otherwise I would think - just buy X (insert any popular brand) cologne and women loves it :) Saves time researching :)

How you smell is very important. It's one of the first things you'll be remembered by on a first impression, either positive or negative. KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING BEFORE APPLYING COLOGNE. If you're headed to the movies or relaxing with the girl all night, apply moderate amounts. You never want to trigger a headache form dousing yourself. That being said, when you're off to a steamy night club with lots of people, feel free to squirt away, i go with a good 7 close range sprays from my neck down to my belt.

I personally recommend Ralph Lauren Polo Black. Women Love it.

Bulgari Aqua is another fan fave.
