So im very interested in every aspect of the seduction arts, and i really get into the whole psychology of it. My question is, can i read books and material on game and learn it, without actually going out and practicing it?

Let me give you some sort of background first.
I dont consider myself to be too ugly, and im not too socially akward(i have a lot of insecurities though) but at this point in my life, i feel that im not ready to go all out and dedicate my life to it. Im really not into the whole club scene and i rarely ever go out. I have very few actual friends. Im only 19 so i still live at home, and my family are total fucking slobs which makes me afraid to bring ANYBODY over. I drive a shitty car (brown 1985 chevy celebrity), it gets me places, but im kind of insecure about what girls think about it. So as you can see im not much of a prize selection to girls, but it really doesnt bother me right now because i have my whole life ahead of me.
So basically i have no motivation to actually go out and utilize these game techniques.
But is it possible that by reading all this material, it would be subconsciously implemented into my mind so i would have sort of a natural game?

im kinda in the same situation you are. I feel that before i go out and start learning there are somethings in my life i need to work out, which i "actively" am(im learning to be social before i actually try to start gaming girls)
But to answer your question, that is what ive been doing. It has helped ALOT. If you read and conciously think about it, it slowly becomes a part of you and changes the way you think.
Also, at first i ignore inner game but now i see its the most important. If you are different on the inside it will change you on the outside.
Im the kind of person that cant think of what to say, i dont talk much to anyone. But ive found that the reason for this is, i dont know how to relate to people, reading this pua stuff has helped me alot, now i know the direction to go when talking to girls.
For example, before i didnt have any clue what to say to a girl, even sitting next to me in class. Now i can say some funny things and have fun with them and they like it.
Also, ive completey became aware of my body language and have changed that. and even built up some confidence.[/u]

can u ride a bike just from reading a book?
can u make a touchdown return from watching NFL do it?

u gotta apply the materials into being u and the only way to do that is actually practice these materials until its urs.

Just DO it,,, trust me, reading material is more waste of a time cuz u it becomes passive and u eventually forget it the next day or 2..

so what im trying to say is, if im just reading the material and using it in every day life just for subtle practice, i mean it does help.
like i was saying before i really dont like club scenes or nothin, im the type of person that really doesnt relate to anybody, and im picky about the girls i like (if shes dumb as a doorknob i cant talk to her).
this is probably why i dont have many friends, but at this moment im comfortable with my lifestyle.

That's what I like about pua. I'm starting to read Magic Bullets. I like that it gives you some direction. You don't feel so clueless (where to begin?). I'm still AFC, but I like that I have some or that knowledge.

"Style and mystery said fake it til u make it" ... I agree, I think what you read will become easier over time if you put it into practice (and continue to practice it)--not to say that practicing it will be easy or you won't fall on your face, but I think it should become easier.

I disagree about not reading though. You need somewhere/thing to start. And that's where reading materials come into play. I've never read a book to learn to ride a bike, but I didn't say no either to my friends/dad giving me tips or using training wheels (as much as I wanted to prove otherwise), so I could learned faster and ride on my own.

Yeah, it would be great if you could learn the game by only learning theory, wouldn't it. But thats not going to happen. And here I can actually speak from my experience. For 6 months i have only been reading books, listnening to self help and pua cds, because i though that this, after a period of time would change my subconscious mind, but it hasn't, Just like mikehawk said, you forget a huge percent of theory because you dont act upon it.
So after 6 months of theory learning i only messed up my mind. And the more i postpon taking action, the harder it gets to actually do it.

If you have all these problems and you see yourself as "not much of a prize selection to girls," then wouldn't it MAKE SENSE to learn game and improve yourself?

Remember, game is about IMPROVING yourself and making yourself a more attractive man - it's not just a bunch of random theories and ideas.

Aim to become the kind of man who attracts quality women, not just some robot who has a few routines and lines.

To be honest, this reads as a post by someone with massive limiting beliefs. You basically want the results, as you say: "it would be subconsciously implemented into my mind so i would have sort of a natural game." However, you're scared to actually commit to the steps it takes to have those results.

As far as putting it off as you have "my whole life ahead of me," I would say this: If not NOW then when? There is no time like the present, my friend.

First of all i wouldnt compare pua-ing with bike riding, a little different.
Lets try pua-ing compared to flying a plane.
Hell YEAH, i would read the book first and the more i knew the more it would help, of course you could only learn through practice.
But dont say, if you arent going to practice learning about it wont be any use!
When it comes to flying a plane, my philosophy isnt, "throw them in the water and they will learn to swim"
If you read and lock yourself in your room for the rest of your life, then it wont be any use,
but im telling you, it will help alot in your everday life, especially if you go to college, or even just have a girlfriend.
You dont have to be a pua, this stuff will help in many aspects of life.
And like i was saying before, just reading has helped alot,
before i had NO IDEA how to relate to women, NO CLUE
Now, just from reading, i can understand them, i know what attracts them what makes them feel attracted, like reading a manual.

Yea i understand your point of view but like one dude said that post has limiting mind all over it i would recommened the style life challenge it works with you on these types of subjects. What i've leanred is the game is much more than lines and routines you can use it whenever, whatever, and whoever you want its about being the ultimate you. To be honest i thought the same you did one time but you can't learn martial arts from a book and expect to beat a black belt. So try the style life challenge book its what i'm doing now. It starts you off in small baby steps so to you best of luck man and like they say you never know until you try

Simply put: You can get half good...

By studying and not applying anything to actual sarging you can change your life drastically and be better with people in general but you will not be a high value person and will not get girls..

ok let me turn this post in a whole new direction.
the situation im in is basically, im poor. im working my ass off, working overtime trying to get me and my family out of debt. what im saying is if i read the material now as a background for when i do get out of debt, get myself a nice car, get myself some nice clothes for peacocking, THATS when i want to dedicate my time to it. but as for now when im just working a warehouse job, lookin like shit all the time, feelin like shit all the time, ive had enough falls to go out and be rejected. im concentrating on somethin else right now.
doesnt mean im gonna ignore all the techniques in the book.
for fucks sake if i see somethin i like, like a neg or somethin, i usually go out and try it, and i usually get a good response.
but if i get a girl to my shitty house in the bad neigborhood i live in and shes sees who i really am, and sees i have no time for friends or family, dont u think that will send up a couple of red flags?
if anybody can think of anything to do better than subtle practice while i try to get myself out of my situation, then please let me know.

Look . . . based on what I see on this forum, I'd say there are only a handful of really talented guys . . . maybe 5%. Then you have the average, read the book, follow directions step by step and try this out type of guys. Maybe 15% to 20%. The rest . . . well, I'd say they're in the "experimental" stages.

This is just my opinion . . . but time and effort are what separates the experimenters from the regular read the books and follow the steps guys. Most "experimenters" hardly even research material on their own, they come on this forum and go, "OK, I want to kiss her. Now what?" It's obvious that this isn't your goal.

Practice is important but right now, reading as much material as possible isn't a bad idea. And I don't mean read just PUA books. I mean read novels, read books on psychology, travel, business, etc . . . Take classes in free-writing. Take a class in oral presentation. Take a local drama class. Some of these things are offered for free at your local library, drama clubs, etc . . . Work on improving your life. Consider International travel if you can . . .

Because here's the thing . . . this is what separates the top 5% from the rest. The guys who go to the local bar and memorize lines or consider themselves naturals or whatever . . . this is all they can do. They go into familiar territory, find familiar people, and they run the same shit over and over and over again. Take them out of their element and that's it. It's over.

The top 5% are the guys . . . well, I bet I can take some of these guys on this forum and drop them into a park in Beijing and they'll secure several dates. Put them in a nigh club in Tokyo . . . done. Put them in an airport in Bangkok for 2 hours. Throw them in a club in LA . . . How about the streets of NYC? How about a club in Slovakia? See the point is, the talented guys go beyond some PUA lines. They have lives. They've met different people from all walks of life. They know how to listen. Then know how to adopt. And here's the whammy. These are the same skills you will also you in your business/professional life. Cutting a deal? I can't tell you how similar it is to "cutting a deal" with a chick to get into her pants. We're talking LIFE IMPROVEMENT.


You have the time to do this. And it seems you have the attitude to follow through. Dude . . . you have plenty of time. Don't worry about sacking some bimbo with some opener- turnaround - routine - story jabber - closerizer. Work on your foundations.

your right i do need to work on LIFE IMPROVEMENT rather than canned material. if theres anything that im not, its a fake person, and thats why the canned material bullshit just wont work for me.
but the idea about taking classes, im going to try that. i go to a community college so it should be easy. if you can just reccomend me some good classes to take to improve my lifestyle, thinking style, or attitude would be great.
and the first step to becoming a player SHOULD be improving your life, so that your able to back yourself up.
and thats exactly what im trying to do at this moment.
