Hey Everyone!

Ok, so after reading through Roads amazingly informative thread titled "AFC Challenge to the Masters: Social Anxiety", I noticed somewhere in there he talks about the awkwardness of silence and the difficulites in breaking the silence in sets.

Deep down I know I have this problem, in the past, when there is a silence I have always tried to force 1000 ideas on what to talk about through my head at once...which never seems to work.

The one and only silence breaker I use when the conversation takes a dive is "how about we go see who's got better moves on the dancefloor?", and since I'm a nightclubbing sort of guy it tends to work well.

But since I've started learning about PU and beginning my journey to PUA it didn't take me long to realise bars/lounges are better suited to me.

So basically, I would like to talk about silence breakers you guys use and have used? Sorry if there is already a thread dedicated to this.

To start things off;

The silence breaker I'm going to try the next time I feel a conversation going cold is just simply stare into the girl/woman's eyes with a hint of a smile and not break eye contact until she either laughs and says something like "haha, what is it?" or if she's really playful "haha, you must be a champ at staring contests!"

Either way, if she responds to my suggestive staring I will easily have things to say.

Silence is a killer though.

start :D thread~

This is good and i like it, but does anyone have any good ideas for silence breakers if your entertaining a whole set rather than just one or even two girls.

Go ahead and memorize about 2 good questions. Relax and ask them when it goes dead. They are useless unless you Are relaxed with yourself.Relax, lean back, be yourself, open up.

heres a few
1)If you could be someone famous, what would be your special attribute?

2)What movie star or singer do you think resembles you the most?

3)if you could be an expert, what would you know about?

4)If you were a superwoman, what would you do that would be uniqe or special?

Remember, if you deliver these with the tips above, there should be NO awkward silences. Hince the cause of awkward silences are due to You not being yourself and worried about what to say. Say anything that pops into your head while talking to a girl. Because Lord knows, alot of them wont say anything if its up to them.

These are all really cool but i dont think they would work really well in a bigger set. Foexample I think that weve all been in the situation that were in say a 5 set and your opener goes stale and you kinda blank out. Its really not good when youve got 5 people all just standing there in silence. Obviosly your trying to be the center of attention and entertain the group. Does anyone have any good ones for a situation like this to get things going again and get everyone talking?

You can always run another opener.. most the time we've got a couple memorized anyways.

Just talk about the silence.
Call them all out on it.

'Wow, you guys suck at this; we've just been totally stood here in silence for like, ten seconds. Interaction is a two... *count*... five way thing, you know!' *cocky smile*

Then stack; for the love of GOD, stack. Tell a DHV story about awkward silences. Say 'Although I'm glad you're not the kinda people who feel that they HAVE to fill silences; that can get really annoying. I knew this one girl who...'

Blah blah.

I don't know, i don't approach big sets, its good and stuff, but im more of a direct guy, so i find that 1 or 2 group of girls and mess with them. I get just as much ass as the ones who go and entertain a 4 or 5 set. I guess im just lazy and want it easy way.
