i think this is a brilliant opener. id probably say something like, i need your opinion on something my friend joe just broke up with his gf via txt message, what do you think about that? would you do that? or something. anyone field tested this a lot and figured out the best way to do it?

I think what he meant was - no, they're not going to subconsciously think you are hang out with people that are low, your thinking to much about that. Instead they would be interested it giving there opinion. But if they just give one word answers and dont seem that interested, then eject so that the set may be easier to talk to later into the night.

This could go either way..One of most embarrassing things you could to do the other person is breaking up by txt message. She might look at it as DLV, if you ask her that.
