I used the old "My friends girlfriend doesn't think he should talk to his ex" opener to a group of girls and immediately they started making fun of me saying I was from the VH1 show Pick Up Artist. I honestly have never seen the show nor do I watch VH1, but I have read The Game. I guess this whole thing is spreading like crazy. Has this happened to anyone? What have you done? Man, I was blown away and just shrunk into the corner.

It happened to me a couple of times when I used to use canned openers and to be honest it is a great thing to be called on. As long as you don't lie and openly admit you study PUA you are back in the game IMO.

yeah, it happens. i've had it happen to me where i will be using my OWN material and they'll start giving me shit like, "that sounds like something out of the game."

things that have worked:
- saying "yeah yeah... i read the game. i couldn't come up with anything to say, but i wanted to meet you and find out if you were good people."
- saying "hell yeah. i love all that stuff. why do you study it to make sure no guy will "game" you?"

There are a MILLION threads on this topic already. Go check the forum and there's tons of advice on this stuff. Search (top left side of the page) for things like VH1.

The best answer for this, is just don't use lines that other people have written down and publicized.

I've actually been using this before the show and I got called out Saturday night. I always high five girls then on my target I make them do the spin. The obstacle girl was like "have you seen the pickup artist". I've seen it on the show and I did it way before that episode and i was thinkin "shit I know where this is going".

I kindof blew my cover cause I was like "I know what you're talking about, and no I didn't get that from the show". It was just lame that the obstacle called me out.

I was blown out twice:

One time I was doing a coin trick, with my friend involved in it and during the second round I asked a HB9 to pick a coin while I was looking away, when she did I smelled her neck (pretending that's how I would know which one she chose) and picked the right coin. That's when another girl exposed me and the illusion behind the trick lol. It was quite embarassing because I gathered a crowd around the table and everyone was staring at me including the girl I smelled, but I kept it cool and redirected attention to the girl that blew me out by yelling at her playfully "Hey! You aren't supposed to tell everyone!" she just laughed and told me how she saw it at another party.

Second time i was blown was when I asked a HB5~6 to pick a number between 1 and 10, I wasn't gaming her, just practicing PU. She did and I said 7, she yelled out that it's easy because everyone always picks 7. I was like wtf where did you get that from? And she kept telling me everyone knows that it will always be 7, but didn't reveal her source, oh well.

i have not yet been caught but then i try not to use canned material. If i was i that Situation and she started making fun of me saying I was from the VH1 show Pick Up Artist. i would of been like

NonStop: come here for a second *take her away from the group*
NonStop: dude your killing me! they are recording this and you are gonna make me lose!.

If she thinks i'm from the show, i'll run with it. Until she find out " hey he's not really on a show"
