ok so ive been dressing like a "gangster" my whole life. which means baggy clothes that dont really show off my body, you can still tell i have big muscles through them but thats about it. although it does make for extreme peckoking with crazy colors matching from head to toe, and i always make sure i dress nice (i always new clothes on and theyre expensive like lrg and coogi with some air jordans and 5950 hats with nice watches chains n what not).

the thing is though im starting to get older (almost 20) and i recently decided to start dressing like "a man". so i went out and bought a bunch of guess shirts and button ups, guess jeans, armani jeans, and some from abercrombie and theyre all tightly fitting. girls have told me that they look nice. the thing is though that they kill my game because im just not comfortable at all while wearing them.

so what do you guys think? should i try and change it up anyway? or just stick to what makes me comfortable?

I say dress for the type of woman you are wanting to attract. I know this is somewhat sterotypical but women act on these. I wouldn't have gotten my girlfriend I have now dressing in my typical shirts and baggy jeans.

The main things is the baggy jeans and stuff like that with the "Thug" look is basically out unless you are Lil' Wayne etc. There isn't a lot of fashion to that type of dress really. Stick with the new stuff!

I disagree somewhat. I am in favor of fitted clothes for the most part. But I think it is also important to wear clothes you are comfortable in as well. As your clothes also show who you are to the girl.

thanks alot for the advice guys. it makes sence, like girls look hella good wearing dresses guys look good in dress shirts. and i know this, it just has more to do with being comfortable wearing them, i just find it hard for me to be confident while not all "thugged out." and i know this could easily be hurting my game because a lot of those high class girls i feind for wouldnt go for a petty thug haha. especially now that im getting older and so are the girls that im gaming.

Im always getting compliments on my fit game so i know im still very fashionable, but my mom, sister, and some of my friends that have made the switch are always getting on me, and compliment me when i dress "nicer", but i seriously feel like a fish out of water wearing clothes like that and it murders my game.

so i guess my question is does it get easier over time? has anyone on here successfully made the switch? and because the gangster dress fits my personality so much better should i even make the switch?

Hey...

I am a gangster (no lie... my entire living is made through illegal means including forgery, drug dealing, and theft -- only of banks, the state, and corporations), I have a boss, I just got out of a month in a NYC jail charged with 2 felonies, and I have a Glock not five feet from me as I type.

But, no, fuck dressing like one. I wear a $1100 John Varvatos fur blazer, a black label t shirt, Rock and Republic shoes, Kenneth Cole belt, and Kenneth Cole shoes.

It's nice and edgy, slightly gangsta, but very 'money' and smooth. Post a pic in a second.

Girls of higher class do go for the bad boy's. But they are short flings that more has to do with the girl wanting to be "bad".

My guess is that you went from one "extreme" to another. You didn't take steps to the other side. You may want to buy somethings from Banana Republic/Gap/Guess. As their stuff is fitted but not as much as the designer label stuff is. I know those brands are not as great as the designer stuff, but its a stepping stone.

That is really up to you. If you work on your confidence then you can get over this hump.

I didn't wear thug/gangster clothes, but I did wear loose/baggy clothes. Primary because of my height and I was not that confident in my body. Now I wear more fitted stuff. My short/pants are still baggy but that is more of a style thing. I do have some designer stuff but they are for when I need to get fancy.

I don't know what music you listen to. But I am going to guess its rap. If it is then I would suggest that you see what the current rap artist are wearing and copy them. Also I know a couple of rap artist have their own store/label. So it may be worth at looking at what they have. Because they may have clothes that are still your style but more fitting and what have you.

thanks for breaking this down for me, its helping me alot. and i see what you're saying. also the thing about older classy women, i have had a few one nighters/flings with them (i thought because of my red hair), but im tryin to step it up and build an actual ongoing relationship with one

this pic right here is more my day to day style:
<a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vczI ... Y0MjUuanBn" target="_blank"><img src="http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm11 ... C06425.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a>

and this pic right here is me trying to dress nicer, but still wearing baggy clothes and jeans, please tell me if you think this is a resonable compromise or any suggestions to improve:

thanks for your help

savage187 - You may want to think about dropping the gangster/thug thing even tho it is your life right now if you want to keep the higher class girls. Also I don't think it is smart to talk about stealing things on this forum.
