Wow, I didn't realize how much the scarf can come in handy. The other night I did this routine on a set and wowed my target. She started complaining that she'd left her purse on the other end of the cafe. She got up to get it and I said, "While you're up grab my scarf." And, I threw it in the other direction. "you're an ass!" she laughed just before picking it up.

Now the scarf is:

2. A routine
3. A neg
4. A compliance test

I've used the scarf trick tons and tons of times after first watching the video, I have my own little routine that I use everytime.
I have the scarf ready (or just put it together really fast - which is so simple with practice) and ask the girl if she believes in magic - I haven't heard a "Yes" yet btw - sometimes a girl might become quite nervous once you ask this as if you might just play a prank on them or something. Next I hold my hands out and ask for her's (that's called a kino spike isn't it?) I them I move her hands onto the ends of the scarf, look deeply into her eyes and tell her very slowly "On the count of three I want you to pull both ends of this scarf as hard ass you can" sometimes the girl might protest but it's usually simple enough to convince her then still looking into her eyes I count slowly to three. Girls usually act really shocked and often are far more likely to talk to you during the rest of the night (I do this at house parties, I don't think it would really work at a club just because it'd be too loud). You often get a lot of people trying to figure out the trick, very few do, but it can put you in high demand the rest of the night both from guys and girls. Finally the cardinal rule of any magic trick...do not ever reveal how it's done, I did so against my better judgement once and the girl which hardly talks to me now that she knows the secret...you have to maintain the mystery.

So, this girl was in my flat, and when talking about my clothes (some clothes and a scarf were on the commode) I said "...and see, finally I have a scarf too! But I can't wear it because it won't stay on my head just look." Then did the scarf trick (pretty neatly executed I think). And she was just... blank. Like the most quiet moment in the evening. Out of NOT being surprised and entertained I mean. I just went on with convo, as it was never intended to be funny. Well, usually she laughs about EVERYTHING (and I mean it), so I have no idea why that phailed so hard...

Awesome trick. If you get in close enough you can have the scarf off your neck and back around hers in a single move. She'll be wearing her scarf again before she even knows what's going on.
