I'm a guy with really dark, long body hair, everywhere except my chest and back, go figure. And as such, I've become quite accustomed to manscaping. So here are some tips and techniques that I’ve learned from experience. (WARNING: this may get a little detailed  )

ARMS & LEGS:

The hair on my arms and legs can get really long and gross-looking. So do I shave them? No. I trim. I like to use number 2 (but 1 works as well if you like it really short) on my buzzer and just go at it. I trim my armpits, arms, legs, and pubic region in this manner. Shaving is much more time consuming, as well as risky due to razor burn, and dryness. Plus, when you trim, it won’t seek negative attention like shaving sometimes will: “Dude, you shave your legs? Are you a swimmer or are you gay?” So just keep it trim, and it looks and feels good. For chest and back, I’d do the same thing if I had hair there.

PUBES:

Here’s the big question guys have; should I shave my pubes? Yes and no. First, I recommend that you trim the area with a buzzer with setting number 1 (or 2, whatever your preference). Make sure to get the taint and any ass-hairs that you can reach. Then shave the balls and the shaft.

**So here’s where you really need to pay attention, especially if you plan on trying this for the first time. To shave the balls/shaft, get a new, sharp razor and some good shaving cream, whatever you use for your face should work. Then, after you take a hot shower (makes the hairs softer and easier to shave), turn the showerhead off and the lower bath spout on (if you have one). Get a handful of shaving cream in your hand and apply it generously to your area. Then, with VERY light pressure, and using your other hand to move your junk out of the way, start shaving. And after every stroke with the razor, wash it off under the running water and tap it on the side of the tub to get the hairs out, like you would when you shave your face.

I shave from the base of everything, so my entire sack and shaft doesn’t have a hair left on it. Sometimes, it’s best to shave for awhile, rinse off, lather up again, and repeat just so you can make sure you get it all. Stretching the sack can help at some places, but don’t be afraid to gently allow the razor to glide over wrinkly spots. As long as the razor is sharp, and there’s cream, you will not cut yourself. DON’T GO TOO FAST OR GET CARELESS! Minimal pressure on the razor is needed; let the sharpness of the blades do their work.

After you finish and dry off, you should get some lotion and rub it over the area you’ve shaved. Pat it dry with a towel to remove any excess (and I recommend letting it air dry a bit before putting on boxers). If you have any discomfort later, try some Gold Bond powder, either medicated or original. It works wonders on chafing.

I've been shaving for a long time and have never looked back. In fact, I get uncomfortable if I go too long without shaving (more than 2-3 weeks). So good luck, and be careful!
