Ok, so I am a salesman. What PUA advice applies to that?

I just got a sales job(a little over a week ago)

I do ok(I"m sure some PUA experience helps...eye contact, posture, knowing what to say/get a laugh etc) but I'm having trouble getting a lot of closes(deals)

I sell gym memberships and really hammer out the benefits. What are some good NLP things I could do? Any, anything else that works?

sales seems a lot like PUA to me and I hope this isn't too far off topic, if it is, please move it!

I can't help you with PUA'ing, but I can help you with sales. I've had a few sales jobs in the past, and it always helps to remember that PEOPLE KNOW when they are being sold something. You can't take away that feeling (and the apprehensiveness that they immediately display to you), but you can do your best to get around it. Unlike with PUA'ing, you want to frontload the benefits that you're delivering. Make it very clear, early on, that you have what they need, which is NOT something you do as a PUA.

Feel free to take questions in the middle of your sales pitch, and be prepared. Think about what you'd ask if you were in their shoes, and I'm not talking about corny questions that you'd come up with now that you know the benefits of what you're selling. Be clear with yourself: WHY wouldn't people want to purchase what you're offering, and how can you make it more appealing to them given those restrictions?

I saw someone else post this and I like it.

The PUA techniques that will help you most are the inner game and personality traits you take away: las-vegas-vt28927.html

Also NLP tactics and affirmations ("I am the prize!") can be very, very useful in persuasion of people. Some NLP things you can use are anchoring, trance words, diction choice, and subliminal messaging.

I think knowing how to talk to people helps. This is hypothetical as im no salesman but..
Recognising cues from other people is a good way to connect with them. ie if they saw allot of visual words "looks good" then you should talk visually to them "I can see that this product will be perfect for you". Or auditory "This product sounds perfect for you."

At its core PUA is just about social dynamics. That's a large part of what sales is as well. Learn what you can in all areas and apply it, but I'd definitely spend some time reading some NLP books (actual NLP books, not the things PUAs wrote on the subject) and Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins.

I a guy once told me some years ago that if you can sell a pen/pencil to anyone then you can sell anything. I know its not PUA advice. But I think it can help you figure out how to sell better.
